You've been good to me. You gave me a consistent schedule .. a good pay .. generally easy days ..but I am SO FREAKING HAPPY to be done with you! It was a good night. It included watching a lot of Big Bang Theory, chatting one last time with all my favorite customers& generally having a quiet evening. It was a perfect store night and I am grateful I got to leave on a positive note!
So, I have nothing to complain about really. Tomorrow, I'm getting a haircut. I haven't actually had my hair styled since Erin left me (a sad, sad day) and normally I would be both nervous& excited, however I am mostly just excited this time. Mom has test driven this girl and she gave her an amazing cut, so I'm figuring she'll do the same for me! After that, I'm getting Garret for a tea, because I haven't seen him since Saturday evening and I kind of miss him. I am SO excited to finally have my hair styled again and stop wearing it up. Miss the curls!
So now, I am eating some raspberries& watching Heavy ..life is really good! If only the weather would hurry and warm up even the teeniest bit, we would be cruising. Until then ..I'll continue to wear winter clothes& pretend it's warmer than it is.
PS my blog tonight is so entirely boring. I'm tired and going to be spending a little bit redoing the layout colors ..so mostly this is just some rambling before I post my photo of the day! The winter colors on here are really dragging me down and it's time to update to include some happy spring colors :)
Oh, and also to remind you that you need to ENTER MY CONTEST! There are only FOUR days left to enter yourself. I suck and still have yet to get a photo up, but seriously people! ENTER. It's hilarious and I want lots of entries ..don't forget you don't need to comment. You can blog / tweet / facebook it as well. These things require far less work than commenting (because apparently some people are having issues with this) and it still gets you an entry! Just have to let me know in some way, shape or form. I would suggest contacting me via MSN / e-mail. Either way, just let me know and I'll add you to my list of entries.. you KNOW you want to!
Alright, so now that I have talked up my contest, onto the photo of the day! It sort of sucks because, as stated earlier, I'm tired& planning on updating the layout tonight. It's a ..um, for some reason the name is escaping me. It has spikes and they hurt. I stabbed myself in the finger while attempting to get this shot. That made me realize someone should really be giving me danger pay! My next realization was that no one at all gave me any sort of income for any of this and made me re-evaluate my sanity. Oh well .. life is short, may as well appear clinically insane.
Well, there you have it. I keep wanting to call it a pine cone, but I am aware that that is incorrect! If you know, drop me a line in the comments :(
Along with the proper name ..my blog has been updated (hopefully, quite obviously. I'm not sure how it couldn't be incredibly obvious). You should let me know how you feel about it :)

Weekend!
It's officially my very last weekend of work! I have to make it through three more shifts (hello, extra Monday shift!) and then no more corner store :) So my posts will have to start being about something else ..perhaps all the things I can do now that I have time to myself on weekends?!
I couldn't sleep last night and was wide awake by 7.30AM this morning! So far I've thought about making pancakes, watched a ghost story, lamented over the snow on the ground& enjoyed the early morning sunshine coming through the windows! In reality, it's absolutely beautiful out as long you don't actually GO outside. Oh, the main thing I've done though is look up some information on blog contests. Including trying to find a good idea for a prize for mine. Every site keeps saying to 'include prizes that are relevant to your blog' ..to which my only thought is 'My blog is about me. My work, my day, my dog ..hey, wait. Can I give my dog away as my prize?! Naw, shipping rates would be too high.' and then invariably I'm at a loss again. When you consider that the only comment so far is from my mother, I figure there's lots of reasons to come up with something spectacular -namely to encourage others to get involved. So, I have been busy thinking of something spectacular and amazing.
I looked up some things other blogs had offered and realized I am WAY out of my league. Blogs are offering thousands of dollars worth of prizes. Sorry, folks. Until someone starts donating things to me, you're winning something way crappier. I keep slogging through sites, hoping something would both peak my interest and be doable.
And I was still drawing blanks. Then, I had a brilliant idea. Now, I don't have the actual prize in my hand yet ..so you're going to have wait for a photo but it will be arriving on this blog after work tonight.
Grand Prize Includes:
1. My autograph (I mean, the tips DO say to have a relevant prize. And this blog IS all about me!)
2. A print of your favorite photo from my website (just pretend this is really exciting)
3. A visor / hat / shirt from Lick-A-Chick (because, really. Who DOESN'T want this?!)
4. A surprise (it wouldn't be nearly as fun if you knew exactly what you were winning. Plus my blog is all about keeping you guessing ..sort of?)
So, now that you know what's going to be the grand prize .. you're probably slightly disappointed and less motivated to enter than you were a few minutes ago, but you definitely should! I am truly looking forward to this, so don't let me down blog readers!!
Simply click here to leave a comment on this post& you're entered!
Alright, all that's left are some photo of the days, 2 to be exact. Then I have to workout (so excited that I'm finally feeling better. Sleep is clearly the cure to all life's ailments), make lunch, gather things for the blog prize and go to work. Where I will watch Big Bang Theory season 3! Ahh .. this is shaping up to be a good day, assuming that work doesn't suck a lot. Which is always highly likely. Look at me, being all optimistic!
So, here is my photo for yesterday :) Some cookies that I snacked on ..they were delicious and I didn't eat all 4 ...or at least, if I say that that means the calories don't count right?! Oh well .. they were pretty good and until I go shopping for some healthier choices, they were my only option! Hope this photo captures how good they were!
So now .. it's 10.20AM and my photo for the day is already done! Wow ..go me! I am on fire this AM. I really, really needed a few nights of honest good sleep and now that I've gotten it I feel WAY more like me. So glad. So, my photo for today is a photo of a painting with a sweet saying. Props to Mom for owning things that are cool to take photos of!
Enjoy your Saturday, folks! Enter my contest and check back this evening for an update including the photo of the goods :) Stay fabulous, ladies& gents!
**Since writing this post, I have my SECOND entry into my blog competition! Wow ..GO ME :D Keep on entering folks .. let's make this be awesome!

Friday evenings..
..are best spent at my job? No, wait. That doesn't sound right. Let me try again:
Friday nights are best spent looking through Vogue, Shape& In Style. Along with dealing with increasingly strange customers. Yeah. Still not sounding like the best way to have spent this evening, although perhaps was the best way to earn a paycheck. At the very least, it provides me with the desire to have style, to cut off all my hair (or have it grow long miraculously fast) and choke some people off.
I will start with the strange, strange man who called my store tonight. Affectionately known as Creepy. So, I'm leaving the store at the end of the month ..somehow Creepy finds this information out. He calls my store and this is our conversation:
Me: *sees caller ID.. groans. Picks up anyway, despite her better judgment*. Cogans.
Creepy: Hello, this is Creepy. I heard you're leaving the store!
Me: Yup.
Creepy: Oh my. Well, that's too bad. Are you going to let me buy you a tea tomorrow? I know I can't buy you a doughnut because you're on that weird diet thing.
Me: Umm .. maybe.
Creepy: You should you know. Are you working in the morning?
Me: *seriously debating lying to him ..but he'll just come in for both shifts anyway* Yeah.
Creepy: Well I'll be there before 3 to make sure I can get you something from Tim Hortons.
Me: Yeah, okay. Bye.
SERIOUSLY. What the hell is wrong with people like this?! Have I not been clear enough that I do not want anything that you can do for me? Take a hint. Please. It is times like these that I'm so excited to be done there. Then I remember the strange world that awaits me outside the convenience store bubble. This brings me great sorrow.
So, aside from Creepy calling the store, my shift was fairly uneventful. The regular strange customers .. lots of people who wanted Lotto Max tickets but couldn't figure out how to order them .. men who were inappropriate .. women who tried to get more free pulltabs than they had earned .. then one guy who won $100 and gave me $10! Thanks, your generosity was super appreciated. I will be spending it on something I don't need, like nail polish.
What I wish I had gotten? Enough money to buy all the amazing clothes I keep seeing in magazines. FINALLY things I like are in:
1. Skinny jeans
2. BRIGHT colors
...yeah. That completes my list. It also is basically the only thing I wear, so it's amazing that suddenly the fashion world has decided to make me cool with little to no effort on my part. I just have to purchase them. I'm looking for some cheap cool pieces (oh my god. I'm such a fashionista. Is that even what they are called? ahahah) and I am determined to try harder than 'I put on pants. What more do you want from me, people?!'. I figure I may as well, since I finally like what's considered hip& cool. Mostly the things I want are from Marc Jacobs. I either can't afford what I want (1,295$ raincoat, anyone?) or no stores around here sell what is cheaper. All of this is so sad. Oh well, I suppose I should stop complaining.
Onto the next feature of this blog, which would be what folks?! You should know this by now! In case you don't, I'll remind you; photo of the day! I am doing so good at consistently posting one. Go me. My photo is so cool. Although not as tasty as yesterdays :( It is cuter ..or well, I guess they are cuter. I know, I know. The anticipation is killing you. Without further ado ..

The Oscars!
I watched for about 20 minutes but I find Anne Hathaway just too awkward to enjoy it. Tomorrow AM I can google 'Oscar winners' and get a complete list! Instead, I'm watching Big Bang Theory since I didn't get much watching time while at work. I spent it questioning why I have to deal with the people I do (save a few people. Some of them are actually pleasant and have personalities. Increasingly, most do not). Please, I will say it again: be nice to us lowly corner store workers. We are nice to you. Oddly, I'd be nice to you even if I didn't have to because it was my job. Return the favor!
So, there was a big amount of no blogging going on here in my little wonderful world. Why you demand to know?! On Friday AM, at 8, I fled the island to go to the big city, aka Halifax. As you well know, since I asked you to pray for the survival of myself and my friends. I was doing my first big girl drive there. It went fine .. which I figured, but thanks for the prayers anyway. I'm sure it helped it worked a miracle. Although, I'm an excellent driver so maybe not. What I should have asked for was for prayers for a sense of direction. Many a trip to Halifax, never have I ever spent much time wondering about how we got where we were going. Oopsy. Aside from my lack of direction, I will give a breakdown of the trip:
Friday: Long drive to Halifax. Some good laughs. Rain. It ALWAYS is bad weather when I go driving. Ugh. Got to Halifax, went to the Mic Mac. Bought a bra that basically had breast implants inside it. Then, got an Orange Julius. Checked into hotel .. drank vodka from a skull, which was SO bad ass. Granted, I drank it while curled under a duvet and contemplating just sleeping like the old lady I am. I was convinced to put on a scandalous dress from American Apparel (not really scandalous ..just more than my denim one lol) which was black and tight and had paint splatters on it. So, off we went to the Dome / Cheers / Sky Dome. Marg met up with friends ..I people watched from the top ..2 men got in a fight over a black woman while I was 2ft away (I see this behavior a lot for some reason) ..various other things occurred.
Then we went back to the hotel at 2.30AM and woke up Karli, who opted to sleep instead of head out. Smart decision when you consider just how COLD it was out!!
Some various other things happened (late night hair washing, swimming pre-supper, photoshoots, etc), but the most important is Your Father's Mustache. We had some delicious drinks .. lots of laughs and most importantly: I had a FABULOUS pasta supper. It was Caesar salad, garlic cheese bread and Grown Up Mac& Cheese. Don't say I'm not expanding my palate ahahaha SO good. I adore that place.
The next morning, I proceed to wake up way earlier than the others ..go for a walk.. come back ..they wake up. Idle curiosity makes me wonder: WHY DO I NOT SLEEP? Sweet sweet god. I especially was anxious because I forgot my eReader so I was super bored! We get ready, leave the city and head to Dartmouth Crossing <3 We went to Jack Asters, I was SO excited to eat my food: A deluxe bacon cheeseburger. Sounds mouthwatering, doesn't it? I was so happy. It was gross. It was shredded Kraft cheese .. overcooked hamburger .. an incredibly rude waitress ..and lastly, something Mom can appreciate. The strangest thing ever, that I have only EVER seen my mother do; put ice in milk! Karli and I took it out with forks. Onto Dartmouth Crossing, nothing exciting really happened. Bought some clothes at Tommy, bought some nose rings. Lastly, SAW AN AMAZING PUPPY DOG. Bouvier des Flandres. Look them up. Garret and I are going to get one. Right, boyfriend?! I know you're reading this!! They are hypo-allergenic, they have amazing personalities, sharpest looking dog I've seen in a LONG time .. so beautiful. Karli and I spent a long time discussing how we were going to get one for ourselves ahaha. So, after that we got tea and headed home. The roads sucked, surprisingly enough. After arriving home, I threw my things half downstairs / half still in the stairway .. and headed to get Garret and go for a delicious meal to make up for my lack of delicious at Jack Asters. We got Irish Nachos and mozza sticks from Don Cherrys. DELICIOUS. Then we got tea and went back to his place to watch Hoarders. This post is incredibly long ..so I'll skip the part where I discuss what Hoarders was about and I'll even skip over my trip to Pets Unlimited today (RABBITS. For both Hoarders and my trip.), except one part: We saw love birds and they were in love and the momma was sitting on eggs!!! So sweet. I got photos. Then we saw Nemo fish .. then I went to work. The end. Now, photos of the day: Friday wasssssss a photo of the skull vodka ..because it was delicious and who can resist?!
After that, it was Saturday. I'm not going to lie ..Saturday my camera didn't make it out of the purse. I forgot in all my puppy glory / burger disappointment. Instead, you're getting TWO photos from my pet store adventures today. The first is the love bird .. the second is the fish. Enjoy and I'm sorry I cheated on the days :( PS I've completely lost track of what days I'm on. I'll have to work on figuring that out. Not now though.
Dad love bird <3 So handsome. Momma watching her eggs ..Garret had given her straw from the bunny cage to help her with her nesting needs. My boyfriend is so kind and considerate! I couldn't decide on what particular photo to post ..mostly I love all of them.
NEMO. What up buddy? You are awesome. I want a salt water tank.
Also a photo of an angry parrot. They openly admit he's a cranky jerk, but leave him free to roam. Danger, danger.
Cute photo though!
Also, we thought these birds were dancing and Garret took a video. Turns out they were regurgitating their food into each other mouths. Hahahahahaha. Also, I have photos from Halifax. I will post them into photobucket and attach the link so that you can look at them :) Until then, I hope you enjoyed what is, perhaps, the longest post I've written so far. It has nothing to do with the Oscars.

February 21, 2011
The weekend has come to a close..
Usually, this is both joyous and sad. Joyous because I am done of work until the next weekend. Sad because I resume the grind of classes. The reverse is true this week! This week is break, so no classes. I am, however, stuck at work tonight and tomorrow night. Wah wah wah. Oh well.
Last night I went to dinner and the movies with Garret. Dinner was delicious, as was the blue drink I indulged in. Company was excellent, as per usual with the boyfriend. Next on the agenda was me annihilating him at air hockey 7 - 1 (of which there is a photo on my phone to prove it when he claims I'm lying ;)) and I spent way too many quarters on pinball. Then, it was time to go see Unknown. It was decent, not really a movie I'd ever want to see again but I've also seen much much worse. The most annoying thing was a group of 4 teenagers who were clearly massive losers (sorry, boys). They kept laughing and mouthing off loud enough that it was disruptive, so about 40 minutes in I had to turn around and tell them 'You are so annoying. Please, shut the hell up.'
Now, if you know me, you know this is out of character. I, oftentimes, think these things but generally do not say them out loud. I think I am overcoming that personality trait as I age. The older I get, the more I just say what I'm thinking out loud. I can't be bothered to care if other people think it's inappropriate.
Then, we went home and went to sleep. Was nice. Until I couldn't sleep. Story of my life with that. So now, flash forward until this morning. We did the tea / coffee tradition and discovered Roll Up the Rim is back! YAY. Except I never roll up my rims and just throw them away and Garret always gets mad. This morning, sadly, neither of our rims were winners. Like I said, no one wins on the first day.
Then it was time to come home and workout. I have a love / hate with Insanity. I love the workout, I hate the pain. I did Pure Cardio. It was so sick. In my five days of this program, I can already feel an increase in my ability to keep up. I can now (and don't laugh!) make it through the warm up without feeling winded. It's nice to watch the people on the video not being able to complete everything either, they STILL need breaks and I'm assuming they are in awesome cardiovascular shape or else why would they be on the video? Unless it is to give people like me hope ahaha.
I will say, the 45 minutes seem to FLY by when I'm doing them and overall, I really like the program. Tomorrow I repeat plyometrics, so that will be fun. The one downside is that Shaun T really isn't on the same level of awesome as Tony Horton. I can't decide if it's because P90X was slower moving, so there was more time for Tony to 'interact' with the participants, or if he just plain had more personality. Oh well, it's not like I choose my programs based on the TV trainer, just that he was a nice perk. I am sure it has something to do with Tony being my first love. I heard you never get over that one LOL! I love Shaun's program and it's more inline with what I want to do (run a marathon) than lifting.
The one thing that shocked me the most about P90X was that I actually REALLY enjoy doing weight work. I am sure as the cardio tapes get monotonous and repetitive, I will crave some weight work. Too bad I won't go near that part of the gym! I feel like I don't belong there, even though I can tell when guys there are lifting with poor form!! Perhaps I need to get over that, as well.
Now, this is where I (sometimes) include my daily photo. Well, today you're in for a shock. I don't have it yet! I'm going to take my camera to work with me and try for a different photo than one in my house .. I really need to get outside to take some, but I'm waiting patiently for better weather before that happens. So, until 11 tonight, I hope you enjoyed my long blog update! Check back for a photo before 12 :D
Stormy Saturday!
Wow the weather sucks. So much so, that I actually got the call at work to shut down early!! So now it's 8.43PM and I'm curled up in my bed in my PJs :) Life is certainly good.
Along with having the day shut down early, I also did Insanity Day 3 today - Cardio. It sucked SO. MUCH. I love this program but I actually have tears when performing it from shear effort. It's insane and crazy. When I watch the people who perform this, my mind is blown. How are they keeping up? I will never know. So for now, let me just say tomorrow has the word 'recovery' in it. I am hoping that means 'easier than the fit test'. I remain cautiously optimistic until I attempt it.
Along with that, my mothers poor little blue car is broken. Poor little thing. So now we're sharing faithful Civic until the Mini is restored to full health! So, for now, I'm at the mercy of my parents and their willingness to drive me places ahaha. So I survived Saturday evening at work without my car, now I just have to get through Sunday, Monday& Tuesday. Ugh, how I dread all those wasted hours of life at that place.
Alrighty, now onto my photos. I have yesterdays. I SWEAR I will get caught up with this project before 11.59PM this evening. I promise. I am holding myself accountable to the people of my blog. Procrastination kills me.
So, this is my dog. We have already met him, in the light box. This time we meet him in the form of 'this is what I look like as a regular scruffy dog. Just walking around.'. I hope you love this photo of him as much as I do <3

Today was a 2.
On a scale of 1 - 10. Do you know why it even ranks THAT high? Garret surprise visited me and then got me a tea. Out of my entire 7 hour shift, those were the sole two even slightly positive things that happened at all.
First, we're banned from reading magazines now at work because they weren't going back on the shelf. Doesn't really bother me, seeing as I usually either read a book or watched movies while I was at work. It will bother me on the days I don't have books or movies though, and want to enjoy the latest strategies for looking hot or knowing how to be hip. Oh well. So tonight, aside from trying incredibly hard not to scream or break things, I watched two documentaries. They were both very well-done and amazing.
The first was called Exit Through the Gift Shop and it was about street art and the people who do it. It was such an interesting topic and a very cool story about Banksy and Thierry and their relationship.
The second one was The Cove, I know. Everyone has either heard of it or seen it. I had heard but not seen it .. so I watched it. Amazingly sad. I encourage you to sit down and watch either one, or both preferably. Especially if you love documentaries even half as much as I do! Also, if you have any recommendations, I love all documentaries. Regardless of how strange the topic! Only requirement? That they be at least decently well produced.
So now that I have the only positive things to come from work (and really, the documentaries would have been better watched at home. No customer interruption.), time to move on to the myriad of things that have left me bitter and typing like my mother. Which means that I am using two fingers, instead of all of them. This handicap is due to a work-related injury, explained below.
So the first thing. Customers. Here is a piece of advice:
BE NICE. Seriously. People who work in the service world spend their days having the same stupid conversations over and over (weather .. traffic .. the boat ..etc), pretending you are clever (you are NOT the first person to tell me to give you a winning ticket or anything else you pat yourself on the back for thinking of. I can promise 98% of everyone has also thought of it.) and pretending we care about anything you have to say (I don't care about your life at all. Seriously. I don't.).
So when a customer is particularly rude, it is growing increasingly harder not to scream at them for the supremely ignorant behavior. I will not go through the list of rude customers I had this evening, because there were more rude than nice. I will, however, show you the prime example of rude behavior in any place with a lottery booth.
Customer comes in, buys $10 worth of tickets. Leaves. I see them sitting in their car in front of the store doors, with their lights on shining in and what are they doing? Scratching their tickets. Customer proceeds to come in SIX TIMES and buy more tickets with the winnings. I was clearly trying to close and they kept saying 'This is my last time. Sorry!'. Don't lie. It's my job to serve you, but saying it's your last time and then repeatedly coming back in just pisses me off. Also, the customer wasn't scratching the barcode we need to scan it and you know what they kept saying? 'I'm sorry. I'll scratch that next time for you!' ...no you won't. Save your breath and just don't speak. Then I can save my energy from pretending to listen and care and focus more on not reaming you out on your behavior.
Next thing that happens at work that sucks? The mop destroyed my finger. Hence, my work-related injury. How does one hurt their finger on a mop, you ask? Allow me to explain:
1. You get really angry at stupid lottery addict.
2. They walk all over your floor.
3. They don't scratch the barcode. AGAIN.
4. You finally finishing mopping floors and dump water.
5. Putting the rinsy-mop-dewatery thing back on, it slips.
6. Your fingers get stuck in between it and promptly get crunched.
7. Along with breaking the skin, your nails also get bent back.
8. Your reflex is to rip your hand out.
9. Scream a few curse words, almost break the bathroom door by kicking it and then be incredibly glad your shift from hell is almost over.
So now I'm home and watching repeats of Criminal Minds. It is soothing. My girlfriend Meghan went to meditation yoga on Friday and I am thinking that if I continue to work my job, I may need to start joining her. Perhaps if I start meditating, I can focus my energy on my zen place instead of murder when certain customers come in! It could save me from incarceration (ps, mostly I'm kidding. I'm too scared of the consequences to hurt someone!)!
Okay, so now I have a mildly amusing story for anyone who watches The Big Bang Theory. You all know Raj right? Well if you don't, click his name and it will take you to a youtube link of him. Here's his story: He doesn't talk to women. Unless he's drunk.
Why is Raj important you ask? Well, aside from how obviously important all of the Big Bang is (insanely funny, folks. Watch it!), there is a man who I'm fairly sure they based Raj off of who comes in my store. Only he is less awkwardly adorable and more just awkward. He has never spoken to me .. when I speak to him, his eyes get big and he doesn't respond. He doesn't really look at me and only nods his head if I ask him a question that needs clarifying. Example: would you like a bag? *nods*. I always think of Raj when I see this guy and then I have to try not laugh until he leaves. Oh, and he smells like body odor. I'm pretty sure Raj doesn't. Embrace personal hygiene boys and girls!
Okay so now. My photo of the day. This is my Doll with Issues. She's the big sister and my brother got me her for Christmas. I adore her. She has curly red hair and always wears a scowl. If it wasn't for her awesome sense of style (rompers are SO in), I'd swear they based her off me! So, here she is:
She comes with a little tag that says: She's a big sister. She hugs her little brother real, real, real hard. Sometimes she holds his little hand so firmly his knuckles pop. What can she say? Sometimes love hurts.

Yoga.
Today is Saturday. Today I went to hot yoga. It was mildly hot and the temperature will increase next week. I'm not sure why, because I either:
A. wasn't listening or
B. wasn't there yet
So, here's my thing with yoga: I want to like it! I really do. I want to be a master yogi and have a perfect warrior 3. You know what I don't want to do? PRACTICE YOGA. Ugh. Every time the instructor tells me to go to my zen area, I go nowhere. Do I even HAVE a zen area? Probably not. Although it's fun in concept, I sometimes wonder when he says things like 'Downward dog is the position we recharge in.' Oh, really? I thought downward dog was self-inflicted torture.
My favorite part of yoga (aside from the poses I CAN do ..aka the ones that resemble lunges) is the end. Where we close our eyes and practice our corpse pose. We lay down and don't move while he prances around sprinkling us with yoga dust and transforming the room into a magical yoga forest. Swear to god, I'm not making this up. The room smells like pine trees and unicorn poop and I can practically HEAR the fairies. Then, after about 2 - 4 minutes, he tells us to come back to life by wiggling our toes and / or fingers. I find this part especially tragic because I so do enjoy laying on the ground like a dead person!
So then it was time to leave hot yoga and drive home. I had to do a quick detour at Garret's house to pick up my glasses and then his gas station to pick up some gas. Now I'm home and I had something else to talk about, but since getting home I've taken some photos and watched some basketball and have lost any train of thought regarding what it was.
Some random facts about my boyfriends' trip so far:
1. He had to call 911 because there was a truck that caught fire in the parking lot where they were eating supper!
2. His motorcycle is in a calendar!
Okay, so now that I have discussed my dislike for putting effort into becoming good at yoga, I will discuss my most aggravating work story. It happens ALL the time. I will write it like a screenplay:
[Sitting in chair, doing schoolwork when door dings, letting her know customer is in.]
Customer: H-hello?
Yvonne: Hi there!
Customer: Oh, what are you doing back there? Getting some close eye?
Yvonne: No, schoolwork.
Customer: Gee, so are you working hard or hardly working?
Yvonne: *frustrated laughter* Oh, you know.
How I wish the last part would really go?
Customer: Gee, so are you working hard or hardly working?
Yvonne: *stabs customer with pen* Gee, sorry. Are you hurting hard or hardly hurting?
Okay. Now that that is off my chest and on the internet, I'll probs be in jail by Monday for writing it. So keep your fingers crossed. Now it's after yoga and drive home and I took some photos for today. I'm really torn between my Doll with Issues or my Dog with Issues. I'm just doing some post-processing to them now and I will see which one I end up liking more. Now, I'm leaning towards my dog, because my doll deserve more than a quick shot taken of her. Squirt, however, HATES the camera (silly beast) and so this may be the only photo of him all year. Until I dress him up for various things and take his photo ..I'm such a good momma!
Okay, so photos have both been fixed up a little. And I love both, but I'm going to pick my dog. I love him .. and he's so sweet. Perhaps tomorrow I will focus more on my doll. Alright, so my puppy -Squirt -is my subject for the day. He is fabulous and I like this photo for some reason .. he is such a rock star!

Quick edit: I actually may be making up the part where he prances. My eyes are closed, so I'm totally just imagining the prancing part.

I wish it were Sunday..
...Oh no, wait. It IS Sunday. Today was long .. I am tired. I am also genuinely enjoying the fact that my evenings end with me curled up in bed with my puppy, drinking tea while writing out my blog. It makes for a complete day!
Last night, we got a lot of snow. Which then turned to hail at 8AM and then rain and then back to snow .. all before 3PM. My drive to work was gross because I was out before the plows .. Mom and dad had to delay their travel plans to take Matthew back until 12PM (but they have since arrived in Fredricton and are snuggled safely into their hotel) and the store was slow due to the generally miserable morning we had. I am assuming some extra slowness was due to the fact that it is the day of the Superbowl. I am pretty sure the game is over now, though I have no idea who won.
After work, Alister and I did lunch at the Bras d'Or View. It was nice and quiet and the woman who served us recognized me as my mother's daughter. Weird, because that never happens. I had a delicious and delightfully bad for me cheeseburger. It was like actual heaven. I haven't had one in sooo long .. so satisfying! Afterward, we came back to the house and I baked cookies like the domestic little girl I am while Alister did a post-meal nap!
After all that, Blaine showed up for a little while .. then left. Then Garret showed up and something fabulous came from that visit. HE IS GOING TO MAKE ME A LIGHT BOX. I am so excited. If you don't know what it is, it is just something simple for taking photos so that subject is completely in a solid color background. C'est magnifique! I can't wait for it to be finished so I can have yet another photography possibility to waste all my time on :)
Tomorrow, in case you had forgotten, is an exciting day. Tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen, is my first ever adventure to the world known as hot yoga. Words can barely express my excitement at the prospect of stretching in heat .. for an hour .. hopefully not passing out. I should really have stretched more these last few months. Tomorrow promises to bring lots of information about my first attempt, including whether or not there will be a second!
Also, today is day 3 of Project 365 .. I have, once again, managed a unique subject for this thing. I think 3 subjects in 3 days is way more impressive than I had originally thought I would be doing at this point. In my mind, my first 3 shots looked something like this:
1. Squirt
2. Squirt, only slightly different
3. Myself and my dog?
In reality, my first 3 shots have been something I couldn't have predicted because I would have never known what I was going to end up shooting ahead of time. The first two, in case you've forgotten already, were a flower closeup and Smarties in a pink glass! Now, my next shot is a cute little turtle I got from Garret for Christmas. I love this thing so much .. I need a place to keep him where lots of people will see him! His little head bounces around and shakes, making me want to put him in my car. Maybe I will bite the bullet and go ahead and do that tomorrow. Until then, here is my day 3 shot:

And, a 7ft icicle for Tiff .. thrown in as a little bonus. Taken by Garret and looking not entirely 7ft tall, but it was taken from the ground AND they measured it. They are men, what else do we expect.

I feel like this evenings blog installment should have an official celebration: I GOT SIX HOURS OF SLEEP LAST NIGHT! It was wonderful. So then I made some breakfast .. chilled with the family for a little bit and did core synergistics with Tony Horton and then headed to the grocery store and work. It was a good workout .. it was a long lineup in the grocery store .. and I will expand on my trip to work down below. The moral of the story is this: It was a long day. Also, I need suggestions for a blog theme. In case you hadn't noticed, mine is currently having an identity crisis. Leave suggestions if you have any! Green a good color? The banner sucks .. will fix it eventually, probably.
Another Saturday evening spent at Cogan's. It was a super quiet evening, which was nice because there was a large magazine order in just waiting for me to read them! Alister came and kept me entertained for about 45 minutes or so and then some customers showed up. Then Garret showed up for a surprise visit and we played some break opens and won nothing. He showed me a photo of Jon's 7-foot icicle hanging from his house, it's nuts! That is a lot of ice just waiting to impale someone unsuspecting. I'm not going to lie - that icicle makes me nervous!
So then at about 9.45PM .. all kinds of people show up to my store to buy stuff. Thanks, folks. Couldn't have come a little earlier could you? So there's a man who pulls up and comes in and buys some break opens. He breaks some open and is replacing the winners with new tickets when some guy comes in and says 'Do any of you own a white Ford?' and so we all look out the window ..where the Ford is rolling down Cogan's parking lot .. out into the street .. and then up into Dooly's parking lot before loosing momentum and starting back into the street. The poor man ahahahah although it did provide a lot of entertainment for me and both the truck and the traffic survived with no harm done. Chances are good that man will remember to put the emergency brake on next time! I had a laugh .. closed the store .. scrapped off my car .. headed home.
So then I had to try to take a photo before 11.59PM in order to keep up with this 365 challenge. All I can say is day 2 and I was out of ideas. Thank god I didn't start this on a leap year, one extra day might just put me over the edge. So first, I enlisted the help of Blaine. We decided on Smarties .. so we took a few shots of Smarties, but none of them came out artsy enough. Then, we tried using his watch. Was not working for me either. Fast forward to my brilliant stroke of genius: Empty cup. Took a few shots .. they were neat. Another stroke of genius? Smarties IN the cup! Hello masterpiece. Or, really .. hello exhaustion and mildly awful photo for Day 2 of this. Day 3 will hopefully involve some photos from work. Thinking of ideas and then trying to make the photos look even decently alright is really tough. I'm thinking it may even be tougher than trying to think of titles for posts (this current post? Still lacking a title.). Now, I think I may make my tired bones head back upstairs for a cup of tea before snuggling into my covers and some Billy the Exterminator ;)
So without further rambling, I will post Day 2:
