Some days you're the lawyer..

..and some days you're the silly regular person who parks in the lawyer's parking space. Yeah. I was the second part of that phrase today. Off I go to work at the Y. Get there at 9:30AM .. leave at 11:45AM. Walking towards my car, I see someone is leaning over my hood to read something on my windshield. My first thought is why is this guy hanging out near my car? My second thought is oh, snap. I have a huge ticket or something. So, I ask the guy 'Hey, what are ya readin'? Do I have a ticket?' He laughs& tells me no, I have something much more interesting. Now I'm curious so I pick up the pace. He is laughing at my situation& I read what is tucked into my wiper.
This is a legal notice from Khattar& Khattar. You are parked in a reserved or paid parking space. Your license plate has been recorded in our files. A second violation will result in a fee and/or tow away. Signed, Management.
Fine& dandy ..at this point, I'm laughing with him until I look up. Immediately, I stop laughing. The jerk has me blocked in. I can't drive forward because of a chain link fence& I can't back up into his gas guzzling SUV because, well, he's a lawyer. He can probably make me pay for the rest of my life. I mean, after all, they DO have my license plate number now. So I call Mom .. then Garret. Mom laughs, Garret tells me maybe I can get it towed. I call the tow company, I can't. That sucks. I prepare to sit in my car until 7PM when he leaves his law office. The guy who made me aware of my situation is now telling me maybe I should go in to Khattar& Khattar to apologize. Clearly, this guy doesn't know me that well.

See my dilemma? Yeah. Fantassstic. Thankfully, see all that empty space between the front of their car& the back of mine? Oh yeah. Next time, Khattar& Khattar, don't leave so much wiggle room. There were cars on both sides of me but within two minutes of each other, both parking spaces were empty (at the point of this photo, one car has left)! What does that mean? An easy get-away for the little Civic that could. So, I got my car out from that space& parked in the spot right beside it. Why? So I could return their letter to them, of course!

While I was writing out a return note, a bunch of people walked by commenting how much of an ass the guy who parked in the middle of the lot was. I hope you're stuck at work allllll night with people walking by thinking that. I just laughed because I won in the end. So, what did my return note say? I should have photographed both of them but I forgot!
Thanks for the blog content for today :) I hope this made you feel better about yourself since you were clearly having a shitty day! Signed, HalfPastWonderful.com
I sincerely hope whoever was parked behind me decides to check it out when they get the note. Like I said on Facebook, it either made them laugh or cry. I'd take either one because in the grand scheme of things, you've got to see the humor in your world, right? I was in the wrong for taking their space& they were in the wrong for being giant assholes :)

PS Khattar& Khattar, if you do read this ..leave me a comment. I'd hate for my story to be absent of your half of the adventure. I mean, it'd be the best really if we could do an interview. I could even teach you some better ways to make sure no one ever parks in your spot again ..not so much wiggle room next. Amateur ;) The only thing I'm truly sad about? I didn't have a business card with me to tuck under his wiper in return. Too bad. That would have been truly hilarious to me. Oh, and I'm sad I didn't take more photos of the whole thing because it cracked me up. Also, it was a gorgeous day on the Cape& I had a fabulous afternoon at the barn. Being blocked in by a bitter barrister (alliteration, whut up?) was only a very minor& mildly hilarious setback to a great day.

How is your Wednesday going?

September 07, 2011

Ouch!

Can I preface this story by mentioning that September hasn't been my best month ..and we're only 1 week in.

8:00AM: Wake up thanks to neighbor mowing the lawn. Remind myself to never leave my window open all night again.
9:00AM: Give up the fight to fall back asleep& make breakfast.
9:30AM: Check facebook, gmail (mail me back Shyann's owner!!) and, of course, the blog.
10:00AM: Grab tripod& camera to take some photos!
10:15AM: Unhook pup from his tie out& put him on his leash to come with me.
10:16AM: Notice dad leaving the garage.
10:16:30AM: Realize dad doesn't notice me..
10:17AM: Get run over by my father in his new red Civic while he was backing up.
10:18AM: Sheer panic over the camera that was flung halfway across the driveway!!
*Time line is approximate.

Maybe dad was just trying to get mentioned in the blog? May have been feeling some jealousy since I talk about Mom& her blog way more. Either way, it was funny plus he felt bad so he gave me $25 gift card to Boston Pizza and two pieces of his cinnamon gum!! I feel so loved. Has anyone ever run you over with a vehicle? This was my first time and I can honestly say it was scary. Plus I left a dent& some scratches on his new red Civic. Sorry, dad!

Bright side of this whole story is that my camera survived being flung! That is really amazing. The UV filter cracked but that's what; $5? No biggy. We still did a trip to the beach but my photos sucked. My determination to get a decent landscape shot is overwhelming and I'm heading back there later this evening to try again. I do, however, have a shot from last night. The sunset sucked but hey, determination at its finest. I learned taking photos of landscapes is HARD. What did you learn this week with your photography; Click it up a Notch wants to know!

Not super spectacular but whatever! Oh I also uploaded these photos as Aug 7th instead of Sept 7th- Oops! Enjoy your day, I hope it's less excitement-filled than mine. At the very least I hope you don't get run over ..too bad no one hoped for that for me before I got up this morning ;)

Being stalked

Yesterday was eventful. I spent the afternoon with Hillary, Max& Squirt. We chased the 2 pups all over the beach ..I got some cute photos! I'll do a second post later today with them because they don't go with the rest of the topic of this blog post at all. So after that, Crystal& I headed to the barns. Nothing really interesting happened there. I know you're thinking 'Where is this story going' ..am I right? Well. First we stopped at one Tim Hortons to get teas& muffins. They had no chocolate chip muffins so we headed to another to get the muffins. Here's where things take a turn for the weird.

THEY HAD NO CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS EITHER. IS THERE A CHOCOLATE CHIP SHORTAGE ON THE ISLAND?!

No. Seriously. That part was weird but that was just the start of it. So Crystal settled for a Fruit Explosion muffin& I settled for just a tea ..I guess I can enjoy the lack of extra calories. So we decided to sit in the mall parking lot. Since we took her car to the barns we're in a bright yellow Sunfire. This is important because she basically owns the only one in the part of town we live. So this white Dodge starts circling us. Seriously like a shark at its prey.

[via]
This is us.
We don't blend in.

So we're just sitting there eating& drinking& thinking 'WTF' while we watch it. There are two older men in it and they just keep circling us. Then they leave the parking lot. They come back. They circle us some more before parking. They park directly across from us& then proceed to flash their brights at us. Repeatedly.

Uhh .. what? What is happening here. So we pull up behind them& park. Then shine the brights on them. They took off like bats out of hell and we couldn't find them again. How weird is that? They were definitely watching us. I just hope they weren't trying to be sneaky or spy because they REALLY suck at it if they were. Oh well. So have you ever had the feeling of being watched?!

It is definitely weird .. I drove home watching for the car the whole time. Not that they would have known it was me because by this point I was in my 'definitely-blends-in' little beige Civic. Who knows what they were doing or what they wanted. I just wish I had a way to run their plates& see if I could put a name to them.

Contest Winner

So, time for my blog post filled with details about Tiffy! Today was her lucky day .. she got her prizes, a lunch date with me& it was even nice out. Or, at least as nice as it gets in the Cape this time of year! So, here is a breakdown of everything we accomplished in an hour :)

Interview
So, we started out with a trip to a little coffee shop callled Mandy Jays! We both had ham& swiss paninis. They were delicious. It was a super cute little place.. If you ever find yourself on the Northside one morning, be sure to check it out! Here's the end result of our interview& lunch!

Alrighty, now .. onto the interview. You may note that Tiff& I discussed how this was going to work. I'm taking the rough idea of what she said& hoping to get most of it right. I'll include a photo of the notes I took to show why getting everything right may present a major challenge.

Onto the parts of the conversation I could scrap up from that pathetic attempt at 'note taking':

Yvonne: So Tiffy, can you tell me what some of your favorite hobbies are?
Tiff: The only ttwo things that my life consists of are drinking coffee in my car& working out. I like movies also.

Y: That's awesome! You sound a lot like me, only I drink tea. So, if you could be any animal at all, what would you pick?
T: Well, this one time I read an email about bears. You can probably find it online. It basically says that bears gorge themselves on food, get knocked up, sleep through the winter& their labor while delivering babies the size of walnuts. When they wake up they have missed the infant stage of their children and are skinny again because they lived off their body fat for the last few months. Also, it's spring.
Y: That is badass. I always used to want be a dolphin. I wanna be a bear now.
T: Can't say I blame you for that switch.

Y: So, keeping with that what would you be theme. If you could be any kind of food, what would it be?
T: Pizza. For sure. Everybody likes pizza. Even vegans who don't like pizza like pizza. It's all kinds of variety.

Y: I like the way you think. So, now .. if you could pick any three descriptors for yourself, what would those be?
T: Breeding material. Do I need to say anything else? That basically covers all my greatest qualities.
Y: No, that's great. But, seriously. This isn't a game. Pick two more please.
T: Hahaha okat. I'll go with elite athlete, at least in my own mind. And indecisive, because I can never decide on things.

Y: Brilliant! So, now that we have a basic outline of your life, onto to the more personal questions. Who would you get to play yourself in a starring role about your life?
T: Jessica Biel. Before the that weird teeth thing she got done.
Y: She got weird teeth thing done? Remember that time she got in trouble with her religious parents on 7th Heaven because the doctor told them she was pregnant but really he messed up& it was her mom?
T: Yeah. But in their defense, she was a wild card. She would be pregnant as a teen.
*Journalists' note: I don't know what the tooth thing is. If anyone does, feel free to explain with a photo before& after. I tried to find it but I'm too tired / sore / distracted to do a thorough job. Help me out.

Y: This is true. I'd blame her for having premarital sex and not praying hard enough afterward. Now, when your movie makes you trillions of dollars, what would your dream vacation be?
T: Well, it would be in Las Vegas, At a 5* resort called the Wynn. It has an amazing golf course. I will be a pro-golfer at this point. Even though I have yet to swing my clubs.

Y: I like your ambition. So, in real life I asked you more questions. In the blog world, however, I've been typing a really long time& the Lakers game is on. My shoulders are also aching. On that note, I'm going to skip some questions& ask you the 2 most important remaining ones. First, how has winning this contest altered your life?
T: Well, it has greatly expanded my horizons. I'm in a café ..eating a panini ..being interviewed. Let's be real, does it get anymore glamorous than this?!
Y: Valid, valid point. Now, last one! It's a toughie. What's your favorite thing about the person currently interviewing you. That's me, in case you didn't catch on.
T: YOUR BLOG! It includes everything I love about you AND it gets my blog hits. I love when you link to it.

So, that's Tiff in a nutshell. Then I had to go to the chiropractor so our date ended. I hope you enjoyed Tiff's interview, I know we sure laughed while doing. I'm not sure whether that translates well into this online thing. Being a journalist is hard. Especially when you're a journalist with no training, sore shoulders& a Lakers game on in the background providing maximum distractions. Here are some photos of Tiffy post-prize obtaining.

With my autograph& daily affirmation that you, yes YOU, are grrrreat!

And that surprise! A gold bar. Don't say I didn't make you rich, Tiffy ;)

PS my car is fixed& returned. Thank you, boyfriend. You are the best ever, ever, ever. I appreciate it :) My Civic is very glad to be returned to the yard. Even though the other 2 cars, while newer, still managed to get more privileges than her. They are tucked into the garage& she's out facing the elements. Poor thing.

Wednesday!

I think Rebecca Black got her song idea from my post titles. Who knew you could write a song about days of the week and get millions of hits? Why does my blog not have 86 million page views?! I tell you the days of the week too :( I even tell you about eating cereal& driving in my car! Although, I do not write about partyin' or fun fun fun. Although, anyone interested in doing a youtube vid with me? Maybe we can reach the same level of views that way?! So, aside from my slandering of poor Rebecca, what else is new& exciting?

Sensodyne Iso-Active
Seriously. I know what you're thinking right now ..what the hell? Why is this woman writing about TOOTHPASTE? Well, let me tell you. I could never use another kind of toothpaste after finally purchasing (and by that, I mean Mom bought it) this gem. Seriously. I LOVE this stuff. It leaves your mouth feeling so clean, minty& fresh. It gets every single area of your mouth, it makes your teeth less sensitive (just an added perk for people like me) it's awesome. The only downside? The dispensing system really takes some getting used to. It's tough. The first time I tried it, I put toothpaste everywhere. Ooops. So, if you want a really clean feeling mouth / whiter teeth / less sensitivity? This is your go-to can of tooth cleaner! Allow me to include a handy photo for those who are leaving RIGHT NOW to go purchase some!

Jelly Shots
Those of you who know me, know I love 2 things: jell-o& alcohol. I especially love when they are combined. I will happily spend many hours making lovely shots for people to enjoy. I have been known to make these shots even when I had no plans of drinking. Something about them just brings me joy. It think it's the colors (I love color) and the fun of jell-o. Because truth be told, I even like non-alcoholic jell-o. So, you can imagine my sheer delight when I found a gem of a blog. I was casually doing some topical research for my own blog, when I stumbled upon the most glorious thing I have ever seen. It took the jell-o shots to a whole new level. It has merged jell-o shots with grown-ups with beautiful photography. Really, I'm just jealous I didn't think of all this first. Seriously, check it out. I spent WAY too long yesterday drooling over gorgeous alcohol-infused jell-o in striking photos. Love.

These are rootbeer flavored jell-o shots. Seriously. Let's drink soon.

Honda
My poor car is still broke at the boyfriends. At least, that's what I'm assuming since I haven't heard otherwise from him! Oh well, maybe it got to spend the night indoors in his garage?! One never knows. Hopefully, all goes smoothly and it's repaired and returned without any major obstacles. Also, if you're going to date someone they should always be beneficial. Doesn't matter if it's by being able to do your taxes, fix your vehicles, build a house, clean, whatever. Just don't date someone who is useless. Dating useless people is like an epidemic. One you don't want to be a part of. So thanks, boyfriend, for being beneficial in so many ways! Your usefulness makes me happy :)

Photos of the Day
So I owe you guys two photos of the day. I hope you're sitting down because these are going to blow. you. away. Or not. The first one is a photo of my pancakes cooking. Told you I was going to make them colored. Yum yum! They were SO good I think I might make some again today. And this is precisely why some lucky kid is going to have me as the best mom ever!

Next up we have some nail polish. It's currently on my fingers (lighter color) and toes (brighter color)! Cute. I love nail polish.

Now, I'm off to do lots of things. You should too ..I'm sure Dr. Seuss has a poem about doing lots of things. Pretend I wrote that here as inspiration! Hey, at least my laziness encourages your imagination. Don't say I've never done anything for you ..I've kept you young and peaking your brain functions :D

Meghan& Buddy

These two showed up here for some photos! Thanks for braving the wind& drizzle. We ended up with some pretty cool shots, overall. Meg had asked me if we should still do the shoot, since it was overcast. I quickly told her of course we should ..having absolutely NO idea what kind of difference overcast shots would make. Turns out, it's basically perfect conditions for portraits. So, ahead we forged. Buddy& Squirt have a love / hate relationship and there are no photos of them being in love. I managed to capture one, but you can see the fear in Squirt's eyes from being so close to such a huge dog. Poor Buddy, he just wanted a friend! Squirt does not play well with others. I have to mention I didn't get my photos of the day done for today or yesterday. Sorry, there ended up being a lot of good shots from today and I figured these were more fun. Now I'm photoshopped out and so you'll get 3 photos from me tomorrow .. plus lots of other things. Mostly, I can't believe I got this all done before the Lakers game!

So, what else happened since my original post this AM? Let's see...

Honda
My poor Civic is broked :( The boyfriend, thankfully, is both mechanically inclined and very sweet. He is going to fix her for me and he drove me home so that I could have a photo shoot with Meggy! Thanks, boyfriend :) So, it's the brake caliper that needs to be fixed. Who is impressed I even remembered that?! I am. Hopefully it will be back on the road tomorrow, but if not my other options aren't too awful. Either the Mini or dad's new Civic! I suppose I won't be complaining too much if I have to take one of those instead ;)

Chiropractor
He told me that my shoulders were awful. He knew I'd be back. And I need to see him everyday for the rest of this week. Then he did a few of my favorite things! First, he laid me down. He took some needles. He stuck them in me. He ran electrical impulses through them. Mmmm electric acupuncture, I have truly missed you in my life!! Then, he folded my body into weird positions (previous to experience with a chiropractor, I would have said my body would never fold like that) and cracked my shoulders / neck / back. Life was great. It always is at first. Then comes the post-chiropractor pain. So now I'm laying here, having overexerted my shoulder as per usual, in pain. Oh well, they will feel about 100 times better in another week or so. If you have chronic pain, go see a chiropractor! They're great. Just make sure you trust them, because apparently they can paralyze you. You even have to sign a waiver ..oddly, this didn't even slightly deter me. Clearly, I was desperate.

Meg& Buddy
Here you go ..hope you love them!

Prizes!

So, as the title states, I have prizes! Well, I've had prizes for quite awhile now .. it's more like I finally bothered getting them together and taking their photo. It's really hard to get them to all look at the camera at the same time, but I managed to do just that! I'm such a natural photographer.
As a side note, today is the THIRD LAST DAY to enter! Click here to enter! Also, don't forget there are FOUR WAYS (tweeting, commenting, blogging& facebooking!) ..you just have to make sure you let me know so that I can add you to my list of entries, ladies and gents. Enter enter enter ..it's super easy! In honor to encourage people to enter, I'm going to now post my photo of the prizes. They are pretty awesome.

So, how awesome is that?! Seeing the prizes actually in my blog really makes it seem awesome, eh? I hope this encourages even more people to go and enter my contest :) C'est fantastique! Oh, and yes, 4 is purposely obscured because that part is the SURPRISE part!

So, aside from that .. I haven't been up to much. My parents bought a new Civic yesterday. It's bright red and pretty nice. They took me out to supper at the Black Spoon. It was sooo good ..I love that place and would encourage anyone heading near North Sydney to check it out!

Last night
Garret and I went to the movies to see Lincoln Lawyer. I kept thinking I had heard of it before, only to realize I've already read the book.. which sort of worked in my favor. Because I ended up sleeping for quite some time in the theatre. The beginning and end of the movie were both excellent though, I would suggest you (at the very least) see those parts ;) We also went to Orange Julius and the arcade in the mall and spent all my money on trying to win tickets. There is a stupid game there where you have to jump 'rope' ..which is really a row of lights. I found a video on youtube:

So ..I kept trying to play this game but the most I can manage to jump? TWO. What the hell, I'm so good at jumping rope in real life. And I'm so good at arcade games. Although, after last night I'm thinking Garret could go pro with his skills. He won WAY more tickets than me :( In the end, we combined our tickets and got some pretty sweet treats. Fundip& rainbow ribbons. YUM.

News
Also, just got some crazy news. It is incredibly expensive to insure me. So you should all be glad that I am not a primary driver on your insurance policies. You should also all try your best to never, ever, ever get any type of ticket from the police (I would encourage offering money, sex, anything you have on you). Try even harder not to put a pregnant woman into labor by ramming into the side of her brand new minivan that she has only owned for 2 hours. Both of these things will come back to bite you in your ass for five years. That is a LONG time. I am shocked that I am considered a high risk driver, especially considering in the 8.5yrs that I have been a driver those are my only two 'convictions'.
Also, I had no idea I was a convict. It would be exciting in a bad ass kind of way if it wasn't so frigging expensive. Next time I feel like I wasn't in the wrong during an accident, I'm going to fight tooth& nail.

Photo of the Day
So, I owe you guys two photos. I currently only have 1 of them, from yesterday. I am going out for ice cream with Bhreagh later this evening and wanting to take a photo of that for my photo today so you're just going to have to wait! My photo from yesterday is Garret :) Just a quick snapshot outside his garage! A little overexposed, but whatever. I still like it.

Along with photos of Mr. Garret, I also will include some of us on the new bike he is building! I love these ..so much fun :)

New hair
So, lastly I'll include a photo of my new hair. I really love it. It's sooo much lighter and it DESPERATELY needed a pick-me-up! In the photo that I have of it, it is a mess. So let's all pretend that behead is still an awesome look and most people want to have it. That's the story I'm believing. The lighting also made my eyebrows look funny, however overall, I like this photo. So, here are the new curls :)

Enjoy your day and remember if you're going to be bad, don't get caught!

March 22, 2011

Thank you, Tim Hortons!

Apparently, Timmy reads my blog! Today, I went to my last Occ. Hygiene lab (WOOHOO!) and then when I got home, Garret was here! So we hit up Wendys ..he is a BAD influence on me. I blame him for all my poor nutritional decisions. That is easier than owning up to it LOL! The point is, after that we went to Tim Hortons, where a magical transformation occured.

I WON A FREE COFFEE(Tea, in my situation)! Garret lost. Ner-ner-ner-ner-ner-ner .. sucks to be you, boyfriend ;)
How awesome is that?! I am considering framing this photo! Thanks, Timmy .. for both reading my blog& taking prompt action to correct the situation. I feel vindicated! Victory is mineeeeeee :)

Okay.. so aside from that, today is semi-nice out. It's sunny, there's minimal wind, there is still ice in the water though& it's still freezing. So, it's nice that I am not missing a beautiful day today by studying. Life, you could be good. Especially if you make my Friday warm and delightful, since I only have 1 class. I would like it to be warm enough for me to practice driving my motorcycle ..so please, keep your fingers crossed! Today would have been an ideal outdoor photography day, however it is still a little chilly& I am still lazy. So, instead I went to my trusty lightbox and got an indoor photo. What can I say, I'm so not a fan of being cold AT ALL.

So, overall, my day has been pretty non-exciting. I almost got hit by a red Civic in the CBU parking lot, which was fairly exhilarating. I would prefer to not have my car be in an accident, thanks a lot boy in the Civic. Then, I had to park incredibly far away from the school. That lead to walking for to get to my lab .. I ran into Barry& Marg .. I ended up being 5 minutes late for lab. Good start to the last lab ahahah after arriving, it was smooth sailing!

And now I'm home, I've eaten lunch and won a free tea .. Dr. Phil is teaching me how dysfunctional people can be (which is nice. Especially on days you're feeling particularly dysfunction yourself!) and also teaching me how excited I should be that I didn't have a baby as a teen& that I have parents who don't date 18yr olds. Thanks, Mom& Dad! You guys rock :) After my daily life lesson with the good doctor, I will be heading towards opening that file folder named 'Foodborne Test 2' and studying my evening away. I hope that it's not as painful as I am imagining it will be ..argh. Oh well, after all the sleep I got last night, I should be well rested enough for a full night of focusing& learning.

In fact, last night I got SO much sleep I missed 45 minutes of Intervention and ALL of Heavy :( What a disaster. I will be watching them as repeats sometime soon, thankfully! On that note, I'm going to devote my attention to the TV ..so I will leave you with my photo of the day. It's a shoe! A shoe for -scrubbing? Maybe .. it has very soft bristles. It's cute ..wasn't sure which photo to pick, I don't overly love the focus of it after uploading it but, lazy wins once again! I'm not re-taking it ahaha

Hope that you all have a lovely Tuesday afternoon& evening! I also hope that you are not studying for a hateful exam coming up in the near future .. and good luck if you are in the same boat as me!

March 15, 2011

Sunny Tuesdays!

Today was beautiful. It was sunny, it was considerably warmer than yesterday and I cleaned my entire car, inside& out! It is SO nice to have it sparkling when I drive it .. no more shame in owning in the dirty car LOL. Thanks, boyfriend for helping me and letting me use your car cleaning supplies :) You rock!

Before cleaning out my car, I embraced the day by wrapping my foot and hitting up the treadmill. It was excellent ..I pounded out 5 miles on hills with the sun from outside shining on my back. Almost made me think it was actually spring-like out! Oh, sunshine. You lift the cloak of anger and bitterness from me. Also, it stayed bright out until about 7.30! Hello, spring ahead. I love you almost as much as sunshine. Afterward, I had an Orange Julius and proceeded on my mission to clean the poor Civic. Then Margaret convinced me to play basketball ..which was interesting. On the bright side, I was the fastest person up the court! Thank you, many miles logged.

My post the other day (yesterday? I'm not really sure) mentioned that practically all magazines say there are 2 ways to have good hair; straighten it or artificially curl it. I don't really care, my curls rock& my boyfriend loves them. Or at least, he tells me he does and that's all that matters. The only thing that bothers me is that it makes it impossible to find cute ways to style curly hair. Seriously ..my hair is constantly the EXACT SAME. This bothers me from time to time.

Mostly because for 21 years of my life, I have NOT embraced the curl. Actually, I fought the curl with clothes irons, hair irons, serums, gels, creams.. hell I would have shot a unicorn if I thought it would give me what genetics didn't -- straight hair. It was painstaking work of straightening and praying to sweet baby Jesus there was no humidity, rain, clouds, anything that would destroy my highly time consuming straight hair.
And then, when disaster struck and it rained within 2000 miles of where I was standing and the curls started to creep up, first on my forehead and slowly all over, I would cry on the inside and wonder why they just couldn't cooperate. Yeah, I thought this until I was 21. Yeah, I know curls aren't really self-aware. No, it doesn't mean I didn't still hate them for it.

So then one day, I put down the creams, gels, irons and administered CPR to the unicorn. I sat down with trusty google and typed 'how to get gorgeous curls' and instead found a whole new lifestyle. I did a lot of reading .. a lot of practicing .. I learned all there was to learn about all the kinks and waves and curls and types 1 - 4B. Yeah, there are a LOT of different kinds of curl. Why oh why can some magazine not just show us girls who don't want to straighten our hair (or artificially curl it ..what's the point? It's already curly)?!
So my new mission = get curly hairstyles. Grow my curly hair out (shocker.) and try to help others make embracing their own hair easier on them!

On that note, I think I've done enough typing for the day. Now, my photo. Yes. I have it. Just call me awesome. I also even know what day I'm on. I spent this afternoon updating my Project 365. I am on day 41 as of today. I cannot believe I've kept it. Oh, and also that I still have over 300 days left. Really makes the year seem impossibly long!

Stay classy boys& girls :)
And let me know what you prefer ... curly or straight?!

February 19, 2011

Stormy Saturday!

Wow the weather sucks. So much so, that I actually got the call at work to shut down early!! So now it's 8.43PM and I'm curled up in my bed in my PJs :) Life is certainly good.

Along with having the day shut down early, I also did Insanity Day 3 today - Cardio. It sucked SO. MUCH. I love this program but I actually have tears when performing it from shear effort. It's insane and crazy. When I watch the people who perform this, my mind is blown. How are they keeping up? I will never know. So for now, let me just say tomorrow has the word 'recovery' in it. I am hoping that means 'easier than the fit test'. I remain cautiously optimistic until I attempt it.

Along with that, my mothers poor little blue car is broken. Poor little thing. So now we're sharing faithful Civic until the Mini is restored to full health! So, for now, I'm at the mercy of my parents and their willingness to drive me places ahaha. So I survived Saturday evening at work without my car, now I just have to get through Sunday, Monday& Tuesday. Ugh, how I dread all those wasted hours of life at that place.

Alrighty, now onto my photos. I have yesterdays. I SWEAR I will get caught up with this project before 11.59PM this evening. I promise. I am holding myself accountable to the people of my blog. Procrastination kills me.

So, this is my dog. We have already met him, in the light box. This time we meet him in the form of 'this is what I look like as a regular scruffy dog. Just walking around.'. I hope you love this photo of him as much as I do <3
