Quick post!

Just watching the Lakers game (keep your fingers crossed) while laying here with lots of medicine in my body+ heat-in-a-click! So so good. Garret came over& we went for a tea, which was delightful. Roll up the Rim is winding down& we may have gotten our last chances to win tonight. We both lost. Sucks to be us. Oh well .. then we went to the beach& enjoyed the view. I love the beach. Then his Jeep was making a funny noise but it wasn't broken, so that was good!

Now I'm home& cold. And incredibly sore. Once this game is over I'll be heading downstairs with my puppers to curl up in bed& enjoy sleep. Until then, I'm watching the Lakers in a close game& decided I'd put up my photos for the day from today (technically yesterday) and Saturday! They are awesome. I think ..I can't exactly remember what they are. I'm incredibly tired. Super sore shoulders leads to super bad sleeping on top of my already poor sleeping habits. So, here are my photos:

Pretty roses, love Karli!

Meghan& Buddy

These two showed up here for some photos! Thanks for braving the wind& drizzle. We ended up with some pretty cool shots, overall. Meg had asked me if we should still do the shoot, since it was overcast. I quickly told her of course we should ..having absolutely NO idea what kind of difference overcast shots would make. Turns out, it's basically perfect conditions for portraits. So, ahead we forged. Buddy& Squirt have a love / hate relationship and there are no photos of them being in love. I managed to capture one, but you can see the fear in Squirt's eyes from being so close to such a huge dog. Poor Buddy, he just wanted a friend! Squirt does not play well with others. I have to mention I didn't get my photos of the day done for today or yesterday. Sorry, there ended up being a lot of good shots from today and I figured these were more fun. Now I'm photoshopped out and so you'll get 3 photos from me tomorrow .. plus lots of other things. Mostly, I can't believe I got this all done before the Lakers game!

So, what else happened since my original post this AM? Let's see...

Honda
My poor Civic is broked :( The boyfriend, thankfully, is both mechanically inclined and very sweet. He is going to fix her for me and he drove me home so that I could have a photo shoot with Meggy! Thanks, boyfriend :) So, it's the brake caliper that needs to be fixed. Who is impressed I even remembered that?! I am. Hopefully it will be back on the road tomorrow, but if not my other options aren't too awful. Either the Mini or dad's new Civic! I suppose I won't be complaining too much if I have to take one of those instead ;)

Chiropractor
He told me that my shoulders were awful. He knew I'd be back. And I need to see him everyday for the rest of this week. Then he did a few of my favorite things! First, he laid me down. He took some needles. He stuck them in me. He ran electrical impulses through them. Mmmm electric acupuncture, I have truly missed you in my life!! Then, he folded my body into weird positions (previous to experience with a chiropractor, I would have said my body would never fold like that) and cracked my shoulders / neck / back. Life was great. It always is at first. Then comes the post-chiropractor pain. So now I'm laying here, having overexerted my shoulder as per usual, in pain. Oh well, they will feel about 100 times better in another week or so. If you have chronic pain, go see a chiropractor! They're great. Just make sure you trust them, because apparently they can paralyze you. You even have to sign a waiver ..oddly, this didn't even slightly deter me. Clearly, I was desperate.

Meg& Buddy
Here you go ..hope you love them!

A great day.

If you enjoy rain and no sunshine. Oh well, at least the weather man tells me it's supposed to only drizzle for the next few days& today will reach 12°C. Whether or not I believe, that is another story. Oh well, I remain hopeful and the weatherman continues to provide me with less& less reasons for doing so.

Wing Night
I don't eat wings. Or drink beers. Despite this, I still find myself ending up at wing nights more often than would make sense given these 2 things. Instead I order a beautiful blue drink and that was it. I never managed to have food, but not for my lack of trying. The little man taking orders didn't bother to ask me. So, I hunkered down& focused on the excitement that was last night. I paid $5 to gamble on the championship college ball game. I lost. Although Josh won, so that was exciting. And then the team that I had wanted to win (Butler) lost. So, really ..if last night was a night that I was rooting for you, you weren't going to be doing that well. Oh well, it was a fun evening! I always appreciate when I go to wing nights& sports I like are the event.

Voodoo dolls
So, you all remember my obsession with these things? My sheer joy from beating the system and getting these dolls for $1 instead $2? Yes. Well. It gets better. The other night, boyfriend& I rented the Fighter. I told you about this. Well, I forgot to mention that we also purchased 2 more voodoo dolls. They are awesome, I forgot them in his Jeep. Best part? He only had 2 quarters. He tells me to try them. I tell him it will never work, but try anyway. Guess what folks? IT WORKED. I can now get EIGHT dolls for the advertised price of one. It would be safe to say that I am ecstatic. Suddenly owning a gaggle of these dolls seems cheap& doable. If you have any ideas on how I should store / display / show off these things, please. Help me out. For the life of me, I don't know what I'm going to do with them! I love them. I won't stop buying them, especially for 25 cents a pop.

Insanity
Ahh.. fit test. You made me sweat last night. It was nice to have officially exercised again though! I have an appointment with my chiropractor today, who will fix up my incredibly sore shoulder, hopefully quickly, and then I'll be ready to tackle the remaining 59 days. I am decidedly back on the fitness train, with no plans of getting off any time soon. Why do I always seem to fall off the wagon right around the same time the general public will see me in a bathing suit? Oh well, Shaun T. I'm back in your loving arms. Sculpt my body, please. I'm even going to eat your diet. Mostly because I love carbs. And pancakes. Yumm.. I'm going to dye them colors& maybe they'll be my photo of the day.

You
Yes, I'm taking a break from my all-about-me blog to include you, the person currently reading this. I hope that you are enjoying my blog (I know I sure am) and that you love it. If you have any brilliant ideas for how to make it better / prettier / funnier (wait, who could make it funnier than me?!) / special features .. just drop me a line& let me know! Interactive blogging is fun ..I don't know how to do it or if it even exists, but how I imagine it is fun! For now, the actual layout / comment section is boring, but I'm pretty sure I'm not advanced enough to change any of that. Let me know and I'll do my best!

Tiffany
My girlfriend who won the blog contest? Yeah, we're getting together soon for a morning filled with funny adventures at a local coffee shop. There will be an interview, some photos, a general sense of hilarity and the end result? Hopefully a very funny update on how the world is treating my very first contest winner! I'm going to try to make it happen for either tomorrow or Thursday! Keep your fingers crossed, pretty people :)

Photo of the Day
Yeahh ..sorry guys, I don't have any yet. However, I will post back later this evening while I watch the Lakers game with both my photos. Today& yesterday. I pinky promise! Since I have no photos for you, I will instead leave you with some older photos I have taken. No, it's not part of the 365. These weren't even taken BY me, but they are OF me. They also include one of my most favorite& missed things -Shyann <3 Yes. I am missing my pony.

Actually, this photo includes all kinds of things I miss: that family& especially those kiddies, summers at the barn and my pony!

My favorite photo of myself& my girl!

And one of my favorite photos of us! I will always have a soft spot for my girl :)

I hope you enjoyed me& Shy as much I enjoyed looking through all my old photos to find these gems. I hope she is loving her new life in PEI at a show barn.

Today I..

Fill in the blank people! How did you spend your day?! I spent it going to two labs. The first one involved an exam I bombed and the second one involved standing outside for 40 minutes while freezing to a slow, slow death. I was home by 3.20PM. I am STILL cold and it's well over 3 hours later. I am snuggled up with a cup of tea, university platform diving and lots of layers! I wish Cape Breton would catch up with the seasons and turn itself into spring .. my shopping trip last night was a bust. I can't shop for spring things when I'm this cold!

So, what is on my plate for the remainder of the evening you ask? Well, I figured I'd take full advantage of my completely being alone and enjoy an evening for myself. This will include the following:
1. Long, hot bath
2. Beautiful blue drink
3. Painting my toes a spring color (I'll incorporate this season somehow. Even if I can't wear it's clothes!)
4. Uploading, editing& posting my photos on here
5. Curling up with a good book& popcorn
6. Bed early (here's hoping)

So for now, I'm deciding how to start my evening of being 100% unproductive. I'm torn between continuing to sit here for a little while longer or starting to run the bath. It really depends on how my motivation goes after finishing this post.

Until I decide, I'll let you in on my favorite part of last night: ice cream from the Tasty Treat. Garret and I split a Blizzard with Oreo crumbs! It was definitely a little chilly (it may or may not have been snowing) but it was still sort of fun to sit in the Jeep& split a delicious summertime treat. If it can't be spring, we may as well have fun pretending it is! While wearing our Ugg boots, winter coats, scarves& mittens, just in case we have to go outside ;)

Oh, also while we were doing our little air quality field trip, I was reminded of something very important. We all must be tolerant. I had this thought while trying very hard not to strangle certain people on our field trip. My first thought was 'You are so very, very bizzare'. Which was immediately followed by my second thought 'Try not to judge. Be tolerant'. My second thought failed. I tried .. and then I tried thinking of things that could increase my tolerance.

It hit me like a lightning bolt. I don't know how I've lived all these years and never consciously thought of it. Tolerance is most achievable when there is nobody around to tolerate! Wow. I'm brilliant ..practically the next Dalai Lama. It was an incredibly profound moment in my life. The only sad part was that I had such a moment while standing in an ambient air quality station while freezing cold and wearing alpaca mittens. Actually, the mittens were probably the highlight of that moment.
When I write my book, I'm going to make this moment more wonderful. It's going to involve me actually starting to live out my lack of tolerance by starting to strangle said persons but having the epiphany at exactly the critical moment! I can see it all now .. or maybe, I should just get a movie deal from my blog. Then I could pick someone totally awesome to play me. Except I'm not really good with celebrities, so that would be hard.

Okay, I'm done. The moral of the story is tolerance is easy. When there is no one around that you have to tolerate. So surround yourself with people that you don't want to strangle as often as you can. Oh, and I just learned another lesson:
Always dress like you're about to have a brilliant thought. Then you won't have to lie about it later when you're penning your personal book! I am sure glad Karli lent me those mittens ..I'll just focus on them.

So now I'm off to lock my doors (I don't want anyone to kill me while I'm relaxing) and enjoy a relaxing bath. I might even light candles to go with my beautiful blue drink. I will be back later to post my photos for today and yesterday!

Until then, enjoy your Thursday evening and I hope it is incredibly relaxing and warm :) I also hope it's filled with things you love, because everyone can use a pick-me-up from time to time!
Oh, I almost forgot to post a favorite song. This will most definitely help put you in a better mood ..unless you're going through a really depressing breakup or divorce. In which case, I'd probably skip it and go for something a little less filled with love. Like Nine Inch Nails. If you aren't heartbroken though, here is Brett Dennen -Love You the Most :)

Happy March!

I meant to post last night .. and then I had to watch Easy A (ps, everyone should also watch this. So brilliantly funny and relevant ahahaha) with Mom. After that, I had to make myself supper and shower in order to get to the boyfriend's house to eat treats and watch people lose weight (Heavy) and get over addictions (Intervention). It was delightful .. but it left me forgetting to update the world on my life!! I know, the disappointment was almost unbearable. The drive over was sooo long ..I hate, hate, hate SNOW. Bright side?!

I GOT TO PLOW THIS MORNING! We got in the Jeep and really, Garret did most of the driving. I, however, moved the plow up and down via the switch! It was really fun .. and then we got tea. And also went to my house to pick up my gym clothes so that I could go to the gym with Margy after my lab. The lab consisted of going to the Pit to check VOC (volatile organic compound) levels .. wearing some PPE (personal protective equipment) .. and checking out what PPE is needed when working with certain chemicals. It was actually kind of fun. Except the part where my head was too tiny to fit any of the masks. We got to spray this delicious tasting mist into our faces to see if we could taste it .. if we could, it meant ill fitting equipment. We could. It was delicious though so we didn't really mind. Had it of been disgusting, I would have been a sadder / grosser experience.

At the gym, I pounded out 4 miles and did an ab workout. After surviving that, I headed to Orange Julius with Marg. They made my smoothie wrong AND I forgot my wallet so I had to scrounge money from Marg. Sorry, promise to pay you back tomorrow when I find my wallet! You're a real doll :) At home, I enjoyed some corn, sweet& sour chicken &mashed potatoes. Delicious. Then a chocolate chip cookie .. some Ritz with cheese .. and a milk and now water. Yum. I may have to break out the popcorn in a little bit, I'm craving snacks!

Basically, today nothing overly exciting has happened and mostly I'm exhausted and still have to pound out QPM and foodborne assignments. Wah wah wah. I am truly wishing I could nap and magically have them done when I wake up. Dream big. I'm currently watching Big Bang and being giddy because some people have randomly picked up my blog and started posting it on their pages (I can now be found in some tumblr sites .. LinkedIn .. etc etc). Thanks for finding me funny / relevant / entertaining / whatever. My boyfriend is floating around on random sites with a dinosaur ahahaha

Now, some topics of choice:
1. Joel Plaskett - let's be real. This guy rocks and has been a staple in my music for many many years. I've seen him in concert SO many times ..sheer genius. He is my favorite cruising music :) When you get to the end of my post, I may just have included a favorite song for you to listen to!

2. Charlie Sheen - Just because Mom mentioned his life isn't nearly as crazy as hers is. I'd like to do a comparison list but 2 problems: 1. I don't know anything about Sheen. 2. I don't know how to make a chart on here :( Perhaps I'll google him and photoshop one up!

3. Winter - we're getting ANOTHER storm on Thursday. This is quickly getting old. Seriously. IT IS MARCH. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ALMOST SUMMER. Why lord, why? Snow? Where are you global warming? We should all joins forces with my mom and spray some hairspray in an effort to hurry it up and make us warm!! So, on the other hand they say March either comes in like a lion and out like a lamb or the opposite. So I guess that means we can look forward to a spectacular ending .. along with a beautiful April?!

4. Horses - I miss them SO much. If anyone reading this has a horse they want to lend me, please. Let me know?! Once the spring really arrives, I will desperately require some equine interaction back into my life. Weekly, at least. Preferably? Daily. Or, puppies. If anyone has a puppy I can love, I will be glad to take on the role of crazy dog lady. Has a better ring to it than crazy cat lady anyway!

Alright, so now that we've caught up on my relatively boring past 2 days, I have a photo of the day from yesterday ..I need to take today's still :( Just thinking of everything I still have to do is making me tired. That is never a good sign.
Yesterdays photo was the sky. With some clouds in it. I have no idea what day I'm on .. I'm too tired to count. Numbers make me nauseous. I want to do a good photo some day soon, it requires some nice weather though so I can get outside and do something more than same old, same old! I also need to keep working with my light box.
Here are my clouds :)

C'est fantastique, non? Also, I'm STILL looking for people who want to play model for me. Garret is either going to get sick of me trying to take his photo, or you people are going to think I'm obsessed with posting photos of him!! I have refrained from more photos of him, but need portraits. I can do closeups and landscapes are out until it's nice! So, don't be shy. Just tell me how badly you wish you could be a model. I have photoshop and will only post gorgeous / handsome photos of you! LOL. Oh well.. doesn't hurt to beg a little.

Now, to make good on my promise for a video. I present you, Joel Plaskett. He's great!

PS Joel, when are you coming back to Cape Breton?! Let a girl know. Promise to purchase tickets and hit that up! The island misses you :)

Still stormy Sunday!

Holy mother .. it is WINDY out! At least the snow has stopped though. It was messy getting to work this morning, and I almost didn't make it out without shoveling. Thank goodness, a few back up and gas it attempts got me through. Shoveling is against my minimalist religion (do the minimal amount of work possible) and once again, the minimalist gods pulled me through the snow. Got to work, worked my shift, had lots of stuff to discuss (I even wrote it out on a note. That note is upstairs and not getting discussed tonight. Tomorrow, perhaps?). A long story short would be that I was incredibly bored and ran out of reading material long before my relief showed up! Also, almost all the customers drove me over the edge. I wish I liked more of them. There is one customer who ALWAYS has snot running down his nose and then he rubs it, real gentle like, just to make sure it's still there and soggy I think. After checking out the quality of his outside-nostril snot, he proceeds to ask for a 10 Bar (Bar 10) and a blue cross (Crisscross). He always either has a toonie or loonie, which is fine. What is not so fine? He DEMANDS making snotty-fingered contact with me. It's sooo gross .. I have to try incredibly hard not to vomit and I immediately, while he's still there, go to the sink and sanitize my hands. Sorry, dude. You're sick.

So, now that we've caught up on my most recent crazy customer, next on the plate is Insanity Day 4! It is certainly kicking my ass thus far and my legs and shoulders are DREADING today. Like I said yesterday, has the word recovery in it, so cautiously optimistic. Blog post had to be done before workout was completed though because I'm running seriously behind. I still need to workout, shower, upload photo of the days for yesterday and today (I have both uploaded and ready! Officially caught up ..thank god!!), make myself presentable and drive to Garrets for a date night. All very exciting things, but leaving me feeling exhausted before they are even completed ahaha

Okay, so now, onto my photos of the day. Both were taken in my lightbox (which, in case you haven't noticed, I adore.) and one is the Eiffel Tower and then todays is the long promised voodoo dolls! Although we have 6 of them, 1 is in Garret's Jeep and I think the other 2 are lost in my car somewhere in their little domes. So, for the time being, we're only getting 50% of the family of dolls :( I will update with all of them as their family increases in size ahahah
So, starting with yesterdays shot, the tower:

So, after that we have my beloved voodoo dolls. They are like my children and Squirt feels the jealousy. He was growling at them today. Perhaps he can feel their negative energy?! ;)

And, unless I am feeling incredibly productive after working out, this is probably the last you'll hear of me today! I will report tomorrow what the day involving recovery was like! Enjoy your lazy Sunday folks :)

Switch to esurance!

Just kidding. My post has nothing to do with esurance except that I was watching it while trying to think of a title for my post. Thinking of titles is easily the hardest thing I've had to do all day!

So last night, Meg and I went to watch The Rite. It was fantastic, save that Anthony Hopkins didn't eat anyone. That's always slightly disappointing to me. He did make an awesome exorcist though, so props Sir Hopkins. Then I almosttttt went out, until I was exhausted. So instead I went to sleep. End night.

Today I went to the mall and got an Orange Julius with the boyfriend. Obviously, as you read my blog you will learn several very important things about me:
1. I love Orange Julius.
2. I haven't really talked about the others yet... so keep waiting.

The smoothie was delicious and then we went to get oil for his Jeep. While I was waiting for him to come back out, some women was out playing fetch with her dog in the WalMart parking lot. It was odd, but I love dogs so I creepily watched them from my passenger side window for about 7 minutes.

So yes, the highlight of my Sunday was Orange Julius and creeping out dog owners. You know why that was the highlight? I went to work at 3 ..although it was incredibly quiet and I ALMOST spent the whole night curled up reading a good book on my eReader. You know why I didn't? I forgot it at my house. That makes me sad because instead I had to read this:

I know what you're thinking. I am SO lucky. It was awesome .. I read about a girl who has a possessive pilot husband who loses a leg. In order to pay for his recovery, she goes back to work for lawyer (the husband made her quit because he was jealous she worked for the guy) and the husband was so grateful that he tries to kill himself. They are more in love than ever.
Then I read a story about 2 guys in the army who were accused of rape, but were really just cheating on their girlfriends. Anddd also about a girl who falls in love with a boy and they get married and have to take on all her siblings because her oldest sister was murdered and her mother and father are also dead for some reason. She is 17.

Oh, trashy stupid magazines. How I hate you so. Next time, I will certainly remember to bring my reader. I cannot do another night of lounging in my big leather chair with shitty reading material. Otherwise, it would have been a picture perfect night at work. Snow kept the roads just bad enough to keep people away, except my favorite customers :) Most of my favorite customers are older, so they won't be reading my blog anytime soon. That saddens me.

Now, for the rest of the evening I'm going to curl up with my puppy and watch the Criminal Minds marathon (thanks, A&E, for being the best channel in the world) until I fall asleep. PS for everyone who reads this before tomorrow at 11PM ..you should turn on A&E so that you can watch the most amazing show that exists -> Heavy. SO good.

Alright, that is enough of me writing about nothing for one evening. Enjoy your Sunday evening ladies and gents!
