A special day
Today is my birthday. My most favorite day of the entire year! Happy January 11th to everyone ..especially those who were also born today! I have to work in the AM but after that I am free, free, free to spend my birthday however I please :)

Hunting
Jerry Seinfeld was awesome. If you need further proof, go watch an episode of Seinfeld. Then come back to read& comment on the blog! My father& I laughed until we cried. Then we did at all again!
So, what is the reason for the name of this particular post? I finally managed to get all the items for Scavenger Hunt Sunday! Go check out all the other entries since some pretty awesome photographers submit photos to this link up! I feel oddly proud of myself for managing to accomplish this. I know, big deal. Five whole photos. Such an accomplishment ..I'm rolling my own eyes at myself! Onward to the photos..
1. Portrait- taken last evening! Garret came over to help me decorate my downstairs tree& also got sucked into moving an incredibly heavy couch from the upstairs to the basement. After all that, I figured we needed a portrait on the newly moved couch. So I scooped up the pup, grabbed my tripod& used a sneaky trick for the built-in flash to bounce. End result?
2. Nostalgic- I didn't take this photo within the last week. It's a photo of my favorite gray pony, Shyann! It's an outtake from the sale photos we took of her. It always cracks me up because it captures her personality perfectly! I am missing my girl like crazy lately so I figured I'd use this word to give a shout out to the best pony in the world! Miss you, flea-bitten gray. I even miss those monstrous ears!
Time- I thought this was vague. I think most prompts are vague so no different really! I took a photo of my favorite clock in the house because I decided to take the prompt literally. Time is told on a clock. If I was into sentimental quotes, I'd include one here now. But I'm not so here's the photo!
Full of Light- Normally, this would be really hard for me& probably be the prompt that would be the reason I didn't have a complete scavenger hunt list. Thankfully, last night we set up our Christmas tree! I was unsure whether to include a photo of our lime green tree's lights done as a bokeh shot or to include my tree. I decided to get with a photo of my tree. I'm partial to it& I figured lots of people would be rockin' the bokeh.
Motion- And lastly it's been awhile since I've posted a floating photo, so I figured what kind of photo shows motion better than someone floating away?! I assume absolutely no other kind. Or at the very least, this one is a pretty cool way to show motion! Here is a photo of my momma floating up to the light fixture to change a bulb. Easy as pie when you can fly!

Thursday recap
Yes. I know it is Friday now. Yesterday was definitely some kind of fun though so I figured I'd write a quick little recap, including some photos! There would even be a video if Crystal could figure out how to send it to my email from her phone haha!
So. The lady who owns Dewey is looking to sell him& purchase a more beginner friendly horse which is completely understandable. Off we go to ride a 'beginner' horse. Now, don't get me wrong I'm not the world's most amazing rider but I can definitely hold my own and have a lot of experience. We got there& he was pretty cute .. his face was all open wounds from fly bites (never seen it before) but whatever. The lady tacks him up& I start my ride.
So off we go. Well. It was completely horrid from the very start. The poor pony is lame lame lame. I felt awful but I also didn't want to be insulting so I continued to try to ask for a trot. He was tossing his head& almost falling over trying to keep the weight off his front foot. A prime example:
So we fought a little war and I was starting to get angry. I also still sort of felt bad that they were selling this poor little guy as sound& if you didn't know enough about horses you just might believe them. So I probably rode him for 15 - 20 minutes& then thankfully Crystal said something to Judy and she told me to just get off. Any horse that difficult to ride (even when sore) is not the horse for Judy. So we headed back to our barn where I had a gorgeous ride on Dewey. Nothing like a really bad ride to make you appreciate the horse you already ride.
So I survived yesterday's adventure to test drive a horse with Judy .. cross your fingers that I'm about to survive the one coming up for me in a few hours. I'm off to meet Judy at Tim Hortons to drive with her to see horse #2. All this reminds how much I love& miss Shyann .. and even Cola. At least he was consistent in his need to kill me.

Mother's Day
I love my mom :) She wrote a sweet post about how much she loves her kiddies (and while she didn't mention it specifically, I'm sure she just forgot to include that I'm her favorite!) here! So, I figured the least I could do was mention that I think out of all the moms in the world, I sure got lucky that I got her!
First off .. there's no way I could ever pass for NOT being her child. Seriously.
Here's why my mom is pretty great, via photos. As is my style.
1. 15 years ago, Mom gave me 10 riding lessons. Thanks, Mom. Thanks for also coming to the barns on occasion, it meant so much to me:) Especially that time you met Shy ...
2. She supports me in everything ..even runs before she has to drive to STU! Thanks for coming on your breaks at work& even braving the cold! You rock, Momma :)
3. We have the same sense of humor. Which is nice ..because sometimes I think she's the only other person besides myself who finds me funny!
4. She had me. That basically earns her eternal cool points because if she didn't .. you wouldn't be reading this blog post. And that would be a TRAGEDY.
There are lots more reasons ..but those ones are pretty great all on their own :) Hope you had a great Mother's Day in some way or another! Happy Sunday ..what a great weekend! How did you spend today / your weekend?

PPS Lakers are out of the playoffs. Mourning their loss.
PPS in honor of our weather for the next week, enjoy my new favorite band. Compliments go to Chevrolet commercial where I first heard it.

A great day.
If you enjoy rain and no sunshine. Oh well, at least the weather man tells me it's supposed to only drizzle for the next few days& today will reach 12°C. Whether or not I believe, that is another story. Oh well, I remain hopeful and the weatherman continues to provide me with less& less reasons for doing so.
Wing Night
I don't eat wings. Or drink beers. Despite this, I still find myself ending up at wing nights more often than would make sense given these 2 things. Instead I order a beautiful blue drink and that was it. I never managed to have food, but not for my lack of trying. The little man taking orders didn't bother to ask me. So, I hunkered down& focused on the excitement that was last night. I paid $5 to gamble on the championship college ball game. I lost. Although Josh won, so that was exciting. And then the team that I had wanted to win (Butler) lost. So, really ..if last night was a night that I was rooting for you, you weren't going to be doing that well. Oh well, it was a fun evening! I always appreciate when I go to wing nights& sports I like are the event.
Voodoo dolls
So, you all remember my obsession with these things? My sheer joy from beating the system and getting these dolls for $1 instead $2? Yes. Well. It gets better. The other night, boyfriend& I rented the Fighter. I told you about this. Well, I forgot to mention that we also purchased 2 more voodoo dolls. They are awesome, I forgot them in his Jeep. Best part? He only had 2 quarters. He tells me to try them. I tell him it will never work, but try anyway. Guess what folks? IT WORKED. I can now get EIGHT dolls for the advertised price of one. It would be safe to say that I am ecstatic. Suddenly owning a gaggle of these dolls seems cheap& doable. If you have any ideas on how I should store / display / show off these things, please. Help me out. For the life of me, I don't know what I'm going to do with them! I love them. I won't stop buying them, especially for 25 cents a pop.
Insanity

I have an appointment with my chiropractor today, who will fix up my incredibly sore shoulder, hopefully quickly, and then I'll be ready to tackle the remaining 59 days. I am decidedly back on the fitness train, with no plans of getting off any time soon. Why do I always seem to fall off the wagon right around the same time the general public will see me in a bathing suit? Oh well, Shaun T. I'm back in your loving arms. Sculpt my body, please. I'm even going to eat your diet. Mostly because I love carbs. And pancakes. Yumm.. I'm going to dye them colors& maybe they'll be my photo of the day.

There will be an interview, some photos, a general sense of hilarity and the end result? Hopefully a very funny update on how the world is treating my very first contest winner! I'm going to try to make it happen for either tomorrow or Thursday! Keep your fingers crossed, pretty people :)
