Fill in the blank people! How did you spend your day?! I spent it going to two labs. The first one involved an exam I bombed and the second one involved standing outside for 40 minutes while freezing to a slow, slow death. I was home by 3.20PM. I am STILL cold and it's well over 3 hours later. I am snuggled up with a cup of tea, university platform diving and lots of layers! I wish Cape Breton would catch up with the seasons and turn itself into spring .. my shopping trip last night was a bust. I can't shop for spring things when I'm this cold!
So, what is on my plate for the remainder of the evening you ask? Well, I figured I'd take full advantage of my completely being alone and enjoy an evening for myself. This will include the following:
1. Long, hot bath
2. Beautiful blue drink
3. Painting my toes a spring color (I'll incorporate this season somehow. Even if I can't wear it's clothes!)
4. Uploading, editing& posting my photos on here
5. Curling up with a good book& popcorn
6. Bed early (here's hoping)
So for now, I'm deciding how to start my evening of being 100% unproductive. I'm torn between continuing to sit here for a little while longer or starting to run the bath. It really depends on how my motivation goes after finishing this post.
Until I decide, I'll let you in on my favorite part of last night: ice cream from the Tasty Treat. Garret and I split a Blizzard with Oreo crumbs! It was definitely a little chilly (it may or may not have been snowing) but it was still sort of fun to sit in the Jeep& split a delicious summertime treat. If it can't be spring, we may as well have fun pretending it is! While wearing our Ugg boots, winter coats, scarves& mittens, just in case we have to go outside ;)
Oh, also while we were doing our little air quality field trip, I was reminded of something very important. We all must be tolerant. I had this thought while trying very hard not to strangle certain people on our field trip. My first thought was 'You are so very, very bizzare'. Which was immediately followed by my second thought 'Try not to judge. Be tolerant'. My second thought failed. I tried .. and then I tried thinking of things that could increase my tolerance.
It hit me like a lightning bolt. I don't know how I've lived all these years and never consciously thought of it. Tolerance is most achievable when there is nobody around to tolerate! Wow. I'm brilliant ..practically the next Dalai Lama. It was an incredibly profound moment in my life. The only sad part was that I had such a moment while standing in an ambient air quality station while freezing cold and wearing alpaca mittens. Actually, the mittens were probably the highlight of that moment.
When I write my book, I'm going to make this moment more wonderful. It's going to involve me actually starting to live out my lack of tolerance by starting to strangle said persons but having the epiphany at exactly the critical moment! I can see it all now .. or maybe, I should just get a movie deal from my blog. Then I could pick someone totally awesome to play me. Except I'm not really good with celebrities, so that would be hard.
Okay, I'm done. The moral of the story is tolerance is easy. When there is no one around that you have to tolerate. So surround yourself with people that you don't want to strangle as often as you can. Oh, and I just learned another lesson:
Always dress like you're about to have a brilliant thought. Then you won't have to lie about it later when you're penning your personal book! I am sure glad Karli lent me those mittens ..I'll just focus on them.
So now I'm off to lock my doors (I don't want anyone to kill me while I'm relaxing) and enjoy a relaxing bath. I might even light candles to go with my beautiful blue drink. I will be back later to post my photos for today and yesterday!
Until then, enjoy your Thursday evening and I hope it is incredibly relaxing and warm :) I also hope it's filled with things you love, because everyone can use a pick-me-up from time to time!
Oh, I almost forgot to post a favorite song. This will most definitely help put you in a better mood ..unless you're going through a really depressing breakup or divorce. In which case, I'd probably skip it and go for something a little less filled with love. Like Nine Inch Nails. If you aren't heartbroken though, here is Brett Dennen -Love You the Most :)

One day .. two photos!
Okay, so as promised I will have two photos for you folks today. It is just going to start out with one (sorry, need to take day 14 photo still!). So today was Thursday and I was supposed to have a test in air quality tomorrow. Now? I don't. So life is good. .. I am officially done with school until after the break. Oh, how I adore you break. So many plans, but will refrain from talking about them until after they happen!
So today I went to foodborne lab and did some testing. Turns out I had a weirdly grown bacteria. It was interesting sort of. Then the lab ended an hour and a half early, so I went and got Garret for a tea and a drive. Then, it was time to go back to school for air quality lab. Which was semi-long, but ended well due to rescheduling of the test :D
After lab, I headed to the gym with Marg for the first time in a few days. It was excellent. Ran a few miles, did some bosu ball and then we headed to the mall where we got Orange Julius and shopped for shoes! I almost bought a new pair of Nike Frees, but I didn't like the guy who was serving us. He was being a jerk and asking me if I knew how to run in the Frees. Even though I had already told him I had a pair currently. That is just stupid. Stupid people frustrate me so much .. please, use your brain before speaking. Especially when it involves interacting with me.
Now I'm home. I am planning on TWO blog updates today. Here's why:
1. I have two photos to post
2. I have another blog post to post
I can't post both photos and posts at the same time because:
1. Photo wasn't taken yet
2. Next blog post will be a review of Insanity Day 1 (yup. I bought it. Oops).
Edit:
Okay, so now I have completed Insanity Fit Test. This was day 1. This was my first realization that the program I have purchased was perhaps a good decision for my overall fitness and a bad one for my sanity. I should have figured that out considering the name of it is Insanity. Here is a breakdown of my first attempt:
The Fit Test is 30 minutes long and you are supposed to do it every 15 days, so a total of 4 times. The warmup is nuts and powers through jogging, jumping jacks, Heisman's, 1-2-3s, butt kicks and high knees. I was winded by the end of it, that is how crazy it is.
After the warm up, we did a quick stretch and moved into the 8 moves of max reps for a full minute. I recorded my results and hopefully there will be improvements! The eight moves are:
1. Switch Kicks
2. Power Jacks
3. Power Knees
4. Power Jumps
5. Globe Jumps
6. Suicide Jumps
7. Push Up Jacks
8. Low Plank Obliques
It seems deceptively easy when solely being written down or explained. It is not. Since it was only thirty minutes, I didn't bother slapping on my heart rate monitor. Oops. I easily hit 85%. I promise to keep better track tomorrow when I tackle Day 2 - Cardio Circuit Plyometrics :( Wish me luck!
So, for now I leave you with my good looking boyfriend as my photo of the day #13:
I need work on portraits of people and I find it awkward to take them. So starting with the boyfriend is a good idea, will move on to others as my skills in this area improve! Hopefully, rather quickly :) And now, photo #14 which was taken this morning after my foodborne lab. So yes, I am too tired to even TRY to take another photo. I basically can't wait to have this post finished and watch X-Weighted!! It also keeps with the theme of having Garret related photos in this post ahaha it isn't him .. it's his one true love: the custom motorcycle he is building!

Weekend!
You know I'm on top of things when my new post for the day is coming to you before Dr. Phil has even aired!! It was a good day, especially when you consider I've only slept about 3hrs.
I spent the evening curled up with A&P .. then I went to my tutorial for air quality, where we talked about engines on drag cars and how to become millionaires. We also talked about Lake Superior. I'll be honest, I left to pee at around this point so I have no idea why, when I came back, we were on google maps looking at it. So then when that class ended, I decided to pretend I didn't have to go to classes named foodborne or occ. hygiene so that I could sit in the library and study. I did .. and boy! Did I learn a lot. Like, for instance, there are way more people at my university that speak Chinese / Mandarin / Japanese than Canadian. I also learned some more applicable things in regards to my midterm, so it was not a complete loss!
I had to write my midterm in a lab, in a little backroom. It was quaint and I would love to write all my tests like that! It actually made me happier for some reason. So then I left my test and headed out into the real world. Can I just say the real is world is COLD!! It was about -20C out there and I totally wasn't expecting it. Much colder than when I headed in to the university 5hrs earlier.
Oh hey, you'll be proud to know that I did actually go to the grocery store! I did not, however, make it to the gym due to the freezing cold upon going outside. I was intending to do p90x core workout, but now Garret is coming over with my light box :) So until then I'll be watching Toddlers& Tiaras parents on Dr. Phil and uploading my photo of the day!
That's right folks. I am SO ahead of the game today that I have already even taken my photo. It is basically like a Productivity Fairy has taken over my body and I sort of like the results! So, here is my photo. Some Russian nesting dolls that mean sooo much to my family. Jk. My brother bought them for Mom one year because he wanted them for himself. They are cute though ..I especially like the tiny little one who looks so angry she's blurry!
PS we're on day 8 folks!
