With no posting! And now it's Monday ..why was I too busy to post you ask? Good question. I think I was just exhausted, sitting down& uploading photos, writing a blog, being witty, etc just wasn't appealing to me. Not that I need energy to be witty, really. That just comes natural ;) So, now onto the important questions of how I spent my Saturday& Sunday!
Saturday - work til 3. Read magazines .. learned the new trends for spring .. how to do an at-home manicure .. how to straighten my hair so I look pretty (that is a rant for an entirely different day. I try to stay away from my hair on this blog.) .. and various other things I've promptly forgotten. Afterward, I proceeded to not attend hot yoga (oops!) and made 45 jell-o shots. Then, off Karli& I went to Lindsey's to enjoy some shots& skull vodka :D It was all delicious. Then we headed to Daniels, where we met up with public health people and headed to Capri. It was fun .. then I went to Garrets and fell into delightful sleep.
On Sunday, Garret& I did nothing much of anything. I actually can't remember what happened, and that's sad because it was only yesterday! Oh, wait. No, we got Tim Hortons (I didn't win. I haven't won yet. Frig you, Roll Up The Rim. You suck.) and then headed to my house where I fed him his favorite meal -Mom's lasagna! Yum for him. Then he went home, I went to work& it was annoying. I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer because I love Angel and wished all my customers would stop being annoying. I must have sold about 150 - 180 $2 crosswords. WHAT. THE. HELL. So then I ran out, of course. Life was great. After work, I came home& curled up to watch Breakout Kings. Instead, I got sucked into something else that I can't even remember now. I am going to watch it tomorrow.
So then, I couldn't sleep until 2 and woke up at 3.45AM to take Matthew to the airport ..I did. I met Mom there .. we saw the child off .. I went to Garrets .. blah blah blah ..exciting part?!
So. Lunchtime-ish .. we go to the SPCA. It was CRAZY in there, so many barking dogs. None of them really appealed to me (which was nice, because I'm not getting a dog and Garret refuses to get one.), until I turned the corner. Oh. My. Love. A beautiful little American Staffordshire was just sitting in her cage, waiting for me to save her from her overstimulating life at the SPCA. She was the sweetest, kindest looking dog I've seen in a long time& she was just so calm amid all the chaos. How could I not love her?! So, I fell in love with a dog that I cannot have ..this is my plea to someone to go rescue her. She deserves a great home& I truly wish more than anything I could give it to her. Seriously, if you can help out in anyway.. so sad to see so many animals with no love in their lives. Then we hit up Boston Pizza, where I had a delicious pasta. Then we went to his garage, where we decided to take his bicycles for a ride.
Yes. In this weather. It's 50km/hr winds and -13C with snow falling. I rode his amazing road bike and have decided that I'm definitely going to have to upgrade sooner rather than later. It was amazing. Then I was very cold and headed home to visit Mom before she left for work and catch up on my blogging / TV shows / posting of photos / hanging with my own puppy / etc. So, now here I am, getting caught up on my blog& photos .. puppy has been given lots of attention and soon Intervention& Heavy will be on. This will be an excellent evening all around :)
So, this post is seeming incredibly long and I still have to add 3 days worth of photos! So, here we go. Starting with a photo from Saturday. This is the album cover for a record Matt has. The record is the soundtrack to Alice in Wonderland! So much fun ..Matthew's stuff is neat to photograph because it's all so peculiar.
After that, I have yet another photo of something that either Matthew or Dad owns. It is a Sherlock Holmes guitar pick. I don't particularly like this photo, however I was in a rush to get jell-o +myself ready for the evening, so it's all your getting!
And, then lastly? There is my photo for today! Guess what it is? There's no way you'll ever guess. I took the photo and I don't even know, really. It's some type of wind up robot that dances back& forth. It's cute. It's Matthews. Yes, 3 days of lightbox photography of items that Matthew owns. Enjoy!
And now my excessively long 3-day catch up is done. I hope you enjoyed it and feel like you know what's happening in my world again. My world really IS that exciting ..most days, anyway. I also decided that's time to get back on the fitness train, my foot is mostly healed. I'm restarting Insanity tomorrow .. plus a run. Eventually, I'd really just like to be a professional surfer in Hawaii or New Zealand or something. Dream big, right? For now, I'll be happy with some muscle, ripped abdominals and a better diet!
Oh, also, I feel like it's time to share another song with you folks. It's Andrew Allen -Loving You Tonight. I'd prefer to share my favorite song by him (Sooner) ..however, it doesn't appear to exist except live. I hate live versions of songs when they are recorded with all the talking / background singing from those around the person filming / the person themselves. On that note:

Yoga.
Today is Saturday. Today I went to hot yoga. It was mildly hot and the temperature will increase next week. I'm not sure why, because I either:
A. wasn't listening or
B. wasn't there yet
So, here's my thing with yoga: I want to like it! I really do. I want to be a master yogi and have a perfect warrior 3. You know what I don't want to do? PRACTICE YOGA. Ugh. Every time the instructor tells me to go to my zen area, I go nowhere. Do I even HAVE a zen area? Probably not. Although it's fun in concept, I sometimes wonder when he says things like 'Downward dog is the position we recharge in.' Oh, really? I thought downward dog was self-inflicted torture.
My favorite part of yoga (aside from the poses I CAN do ..aka the ones that resemble lunges) is the end. Where we close our eyes and practice our corpse pose. We lay down and don't move while he prances around sprinkling us with yoga dust and transforming the room into a magical yoga forest. Swear to god, I'm not making this up. The room smells like pine trees and unicorn poop and I can practically HEAR the fairies. Then, after about 2 - 4 minutes, he tells us to come back to life by wiggling our toes and / or fingers. I find this part especially tragic because I so do enjoy laying on the ground like a dead person!
So then it was time to leave hot yoga and drive home. I had to do a quick detour at Garret's house to pick up my glasses and then his gas station to pick up some gas. Now I'm home and I had something else to talk about, but since getting home I've taken some photos and watched some basketball and have lost any train of thought regarding what it was.
Some random facts about my boyfriends' trip so far:
1. He had to call 911 because there was a truck that caught fire in the parking lot where they were eating supper!
2. His motorcycle is in a calendar!
Okay, so now that I have discussed my dislike for putting effort into becoming good at yoga, I will discuss my most aggravating work story. It happens ALL the time. I will write it like a screenplay:
[Sitting in chair, doing schoolwork when door dings, letting her know customer is in.]
Customer: H-hello?
Yvonne: Hi there!
Customer: Oh, what are you doing back there? Getting some close eye?
Yvonne: No, schoolwork.
Customer: Gee, so are you working hard or hardly working?
Yvonne: *frustrated laughter* Oh, you know.
How I wish the last part would really go?
Customer: Gee, so are you working hard or hardly working?
Yvonne: *stabs customer with pen* Gee, sorry. Are you hurting hard or hardly hurting?
Okay. Now that that is off my chest and on the internet, I'll probs be in jail by Monday for writing it. So keep your fingers crossed. Now it's after yoga and drive home and I took some photos for today. I'm really torn between my Doll with Issues or my Dog with Issues. I'm just doing some post-processing to them now and I will see which one I end up liking more. Now, I'm leaning towards my dog, because my doll deserve more than a quick shot taken of her. Squirt, however, HATES the camera (silly beast) and so this may be the only photo of him all year. Until I dress him up for various things and take his photo ..I'm such a good momma!
Okay, so photos have both been fixed up a little. And I love both, but I'm going to pick my dog. I love him .. and he's so sweet. Perhaps tomorrow I will focus more on my doll. Alright, so my puppy -Squirt -is my subject for the day. He is fabulous and I like this photo for some reason .. he is such a rock star!

Quick edit: I actually may be making up the part where he prances. My eyes are closed, so I'm totally just imagining the prancing part.

Thursday..
Today I went to my two labs. The first one was foodborne, where we inoculated plates with salmonella. It was incredibly thrilling .. we had missed the previous 2 due to snow! Thanks to that, we have to go into the lab on our own time, which is never my idea of fun. So yes, this is me complaining about actually having to put in some effort. I hate effort.
After that lab ended, I went and picked up the boyfriend for a coffee and tea. My tea sucked because they forgot to put sugar in so I just poured it out. I guess I wasn't meant to treat myself this afternoon. We also drove out to the ski hill and watched the people enjoying all the snow we've gotten and made plans to go over 'reading week'. It is in quotations because I have never read during that week, at least not school related things ahah Garret is a good snowboarder and I suck. Last year I went with Suzie and Meg ..it was awesome. We sucked so bad we couldn't get past the bunny hill, we couldn't use the rope to pull ourselves up so we had to take our boards off and WALK up the hill every time we got to the bottom. Ski instructors actually felt bad for us and taught us how to do it in between teaching the kiddies that were there. Yeahhh .. but on the bright side, it was completely hilarious!
So then I had to head back to the university to face air quality lab. I thought it might be painful, it wasn't. 42 minutes long :) After that I headed home .. had some lunch / supper .. watched Dr. Phil and tried to nap. I think I fell asleep for about 4 minutes. Not that I think sleeping would have actually helped me feel better, it just would have been nice. Especially since I now have to curl up with anatomy& physiology for a few hours. I can't wait to write this and just take tomorrow off. I'm not even going to LOOK at anything related to public health until Saturday, when I have to start studying for foodborne.
On the bright side .. Saturday is my second attempt to attend hot yoga! The last one, as per my post following it, did not go as planned. I am incredibly excited for it .. due to the mass amount of course work + trying to take a photo, I have been slack on heading to the gym. I also desperately need to go buy myself some groceries. I have to make sure to do that tomorrow. I also have to get my light box from Garret before he heads out to Moncton so I can play with that for the next few photos.
And that wraps up what I have to say about today really. Now, onto my photo of the day. I am trying to play with long exposures .. however, I am also trying to time manage until I get caught back up with school and get healthy. This sore throat is really leaving me feeling exhausted for some reason. So, now that X-Weighted is over, I am taking that as my cue to actually go study. I leave you with my day 7 photo of Project 365 :)
