Forget about it!

No, seriously. That has been my motto since about Sunday. I can't even remember everything I've forgotten in the last 72hrs. It is scary ..I usually have a really good memory. Now I'm just a sitting duck waiting for my short-term memory loss to go away!

For example, after my AquaFit class at the pool, I left the following items there:
  • towel
  • sweater
  • glasses
  • cell phone
  • camera
Then I remembered that I forgot my glasses& cell phone so I went back to get them. About thirty minutes after the pool was closed, I remember I forgot my towel& sweater. Crystal actually had to remind me that I forgot my camera there. Then, before leaving to go to the pool, I forgot my purse at my house. I forgot to take my hair dryer with me to the pool AND I forgot to bring a hair towel.

I am also completely exhausted& feeling like I just can't get out of my own way. It has not been a very good last few days for me at all. I just can't shake this strange forgetful behaviour. My fingers are crossed that it is just a virus or something making me tired hence leading to my inability to remember anything. I can totally understand why people who are permanently losing their memories panic .. this is a terrible feeling. I honestly feel like I have to keep a running list of things that need to get done, things I am supposed to have with me& things I've brought places that need to leave with me.

Meanwhile, enjoy this photo of my friend's cat, Duffy! He absolutely loved modeling in the light box ..just kidding! We convinced him with lots of snuggles& yogurt. We managed to get some pretty cute shots in the end. I think I have an addiction to animal photos taken in my light box. No big deal. Anyone have a small animal they want to donate to the cause?! Oh well, I hope everyone out there reading my blog had a better Monday than me. Not that that was hard.

Oh, I also managed to get some photos of Pony being lunged ..which are on my camera ..which is locked away in the pool office. What a great start to the week :) Oh and I found there's a place where two eagles are always perched! Expect a photo of them sometime in the near future ..assuming I can remember.

Sunny Saturday!

Well apparently it's tough for me to post on Friday evenings ahah .. that's 2 weeks in a row I missed a Friday! So here is a quick update:

1. Ran 6k last night at a park on some trails. My poor rest day!
2. Running 8k today.
3. I just got all my hair cut off
4. I also got my camera back so later I'll post the photos of our mission to bake healthy snacks!
5. It's cold here (shocking, right?) but the sun is shining :D

Enjoy your Saturday, folks!
Oh before you go, enjoy something I thought of today while watching people work in groups:

Photos!

Okay, so double post. I'm currently enjoying a beautiful blue drink (thanks world, for not still having a ban on alcohol. Mostly just vodka) and have edited my photos. They are now ready to be uploaded. First, I have to give a shout out to Mom, Dad and Garret because they have ALL contributed to my favorite things: photos.
All of them pitched in with purchasing lenses, tripods, photoshop, lightbox and more! You three people are awesome :)

So, since my last blog was exceedingly long, I'll leave you with just my photos. Yesterdays' first. It's a photo of a book someone got for Mom and it's about stress. It's cute and made me smile. The photo didn't get all the words, but I still like it. Mostly because I like the book.

And now, for today. My photo is obviously my blue drink! I have no idea if it's a good photo ..but it's blue, has vodka in it and I'm drinking it. So who cares?! If you know me at all, you recognize my complete love for blue drinks. The love is so strong I taught a Cuban bartender how to make my drink. Take that, Cuba.

Oh, one bonus photo before I leave you folks. The Morning Mashup is, seriously, the only reason I bother going to classes in the mornings. They are hilarious and if you have satellite radio, you should listen to them. If you don't, I guess good on you for supporting the local radio businesses ahaha. So today, Nicole from the show tweets a photo of Nerds (alongside blue drinks, Nerds are another favorite!) and I reply saying as much. She tweeted me back ..aw, isn't that just the sweetest thing?! Here's her reply:
I feel so famous. Hahaha it did seriously make me smile, as lame as that is!

Hope your night is going as completely fabulously as mine! Really, even half as fabulously would still be pretty great :) Either way, embrace it. You'll never have this night again!

Accomplished Today..

I survived my foodborne test. Small miracles are abundant! It is FREEZING here in my part of Canada, which always sucks. There's lots of drift ice that doesn't appear to be going anywhere .. the wind is cold& bitter ..bright side?! I survived foodborne. First, I had to survive my school being on fire and standing outside with the girls waiting for the firefighters to let us back in. It was cold and I was not dressed for an extended outdoor adventure. If I had of had my camera (common lament in my world. Constantly saying I'm going to take it everywhere& never following through on it), it would have been a good photo opportunity! I think you can tell where this is going ..no photo of the day from me yet :(

In honor of surviving my adventure to CBU today, I'm sitting here watching Full House and thinking that even though Ashley& Mary-Kate are adults now, I still find them just as cute as when they were little tiny girls! I am watching the episode where Jesse gets married. It's alright and certainly beats what I was doing this time yesterday --studying!

I am also going shopping tonight ..which would be WAY more exciting if we lived somewhere like Halifax or Edmonton. As it stands, I'll shop at Smart Set because I love it there and probably end up not buying much of anything. I really want spring clothes, even though it's -11C out and snowing. It may help put me in the mood for spring, if nothing else! I wish we had a Marc Jacobs& that I could afford it. I'm going to try incredibly hard to buy no jeans. No cardigans (let's be real ..I don't NEED any more cardigans). Some pretty spring tops and lots of trying things on. If I make that a promise now, I will for sure stick to it. Especially if I drag Garret along and make him play fashion police. Why is my boyfriend better at picking out clothes for me than I am?! Oh well, I will reward him with an Orange Julius and he will be more than happy!

Before shopping can begin, however, I must do Insanity. It won't be so bad, assuming I can gather the energy. I am a little wore out from studying for about 14hrs. Not to mention my body is totally over sleep, seeing as I only got 75 minutes worth last night. Oh well .. now I want cake (thanks, wedding episode& Cake Wrecks)! So, on that note .. I will leave you with a fabulous singer since I have no photo for you.
Hope you don't mind ..the artist I'm leaving you with is Sam Means. His song is Yeah, yeah. It's really good! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

So, sorry for a completely rambling post. I am just so excited to have done well on that stupid test. Plus, I'm tired AND hungry AND there is no cake in my house!!

Singapore slings!

So today was Tuesday and how was it different from yesterday? I had a lab, instead of 3 classes. It also wasn't Valentine's Day today.
How was it the same? It was cold and windy with snow. Can I just on record that I am incredibly sick of the cold and the snow?!

So I know you're all burning with desire to know how my Vday went, right? The boyfriend and I hit up East Side Marios and they were so busy that we had to drink our pops from plastic kid cups .. it was cute. We shared a delicious meal, followed by an even more delicious dessert and then I saw my hairdresser and her date, aka Rob aka Garret's friend who is hilarious. So, while Garret was paying the bill, I paid them a visit. I'm sure they were more than excited to have me sitting at their table for a few minutes ahaha after that we went for a drive and went home. I got chocolates and an orchid and we watched Intervention and Heavy. Because nothing says 'I love you' like drug addicts and morbidly obese people :) Then I went to sleep because I was tired and woke up at about 6AM because I don't sleep well.

So that was my love day events. It really wasn't much different from many other dates we have, aside from the flower! So then today, I got to play with radioactive rocks in Occupational Hygiene. My exposure was 1mR. I don't know what that means, but it is low. Afterward, I went out for supper AGAIN (I need to work on this, apparently ahaha) with Karli, Marg and Linds at the Black Spoon. I absolutely adore that place. It plays sirius Coffeehouse and is dimly lit and quaint. So nice. They were 30 minutes late, so instead of being my usual self and dreading being alone, what did I do? I embraced the alone time and ordered myself a Singapore Sling. It was pink and delicious and reminded me of some very important things:
1. Keep everything in perspective. Alone time is fabulous, even in a place where you are expected to be with others.
2. I actually need to take my advice and start bringing my camera everywhere I go. Would have been a fabulous photo of the day :(

So, that was my evening. It was delightful, those girls are all excellent company! We discussed a photo shoot (until then, any volunteers for portraits?! I need some work on those.) and travel plans over break. Now I am tucked into my bed for the evening with the wind howling outside while I listen to good music and, eventually, study for foodborne. Motivation is difficult because tomorrow I am going to write that test and then go to foodborne lab and then go to the gym with Marg and get a coffee& tea with the boyfriend. Then I just have to study for air quality on Friday and then? HELLO BREAK! Nice to see you! I plan on filling you with so many fun activities. Perhaps I will even ride a horse over my break. I am really suffering from horse withdrawal and missing my little mule of a pony, Shy. I am also SO excited to get back to the gym. It has been about 3 days since I did any exercise and I'm feeling crappy. Not to mention all the eating out. Ugh ..the company was good though, so not too much complaining!

Alright, with that said .. here is my suckiest installment of photo of the day so far! Today is day 12. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to bring my camera everywhere with me and I don't even care if I get strange looks from people wondering why I am lugging a dSLR around. If I did that, my current photo would be a gorgeous Singapore sling. Instead, it is dry erase markers. Just call this day a write off, please and don't hold it against me ahahah.

So now that my generally sucky photo has been uploaded for the world to see .. it's time to curl up with foodborne and my puppy and try to learn some stuff for this test tomorrow. Wish me luck.
