Ballet class?

I've never really been a dancer. Don't get me wrong ..I tried to dance for years. I did step, highland, maybe even tap, jazz& ballet. It didn't really pan out. Turns out I'm more suited to riding horses (I got a new project to play with! Photos coming soon)& swimming. Dance is not my forte.I discovered today that ballet is also not Squirt's forte. How did I discover this? Good question!

The other evening, Meg got me some great things from the San Francisco store inventory (funny story behind this ..start blogging again, Meg!) to celebrate my day of birth. A boa, some glasses, a hat& a spectacular purple tutu! The dog didn't even know what was coming& before he knew what was up, he was in a tutu. It was hilarious. Also, I've discovered how to get a very well behaved dog in the light box- bribe him. I just give him little slivers of mini candy canes (should have stocked up on these ..don't know what I'm going to do when this box runs out!) and he listens perfectly. The promise of a candy cane also removes the general look of hatred from his eyes. Now, he looks slightly manic instead! It's either from the promise of a candy cane or from the slight sugar rush he's experiencing. Depends on what photo from the shoot I use.

Check out the other great entries :)

In this photo, I used the third one we took so the sugar rush hasn't hit yet. He's anxiously awaiting his second piece of candy cane. You can practically see it in his eyes 'Please, Mum! Look how good I am being. Please give me a treat!' While I don't usually ever treat my dog, I figure it won't kill him. An entire photo shoot results in him getting one third of a mini candy cane. Yeah, I'm certainly not going to have a diabetic dog on my hands. I've also made a promise to him that he only has to go in the light box once a week, max! Does anyone else make deals with their animals? Sometimes I feel crazy when I write out my dog stories but other people can relate ..right?!

One last thing before I leave you folks to swoon over my sweet pup. I am officially riding again! I am working with a green broke 7yr old Arabian named Zafarr. I need a pet name for him ..I'm thinking Pony or Arab. Any other suggestions? He's sweet as pie ..next day it is not bitterly cold out, I promise to snap some photos of him :) Enjoy your Thursday evening, folks!

Playing catch up

Sorry guys. Blogging at HalfPastWonderful is officially back to regular starting now! The exhibition was fabulous .. I took lots of photos for my post tomorrow to show you guys just what it was that sucked me away from blogging. It also was fabulous weather allll week& looks like it's continuing based on the fact that today is gorgeous& sunny!

So today's post will be quick and involve Friday Snaps& Two-Faced Tuesday! I'm so sorry these didn't make it up as regularly scheduled ..I wasn't home long enough to upload& edit all week! So to start with, here is my latest installment of Two-faced Tuesday [100 Strangers Project]

Isn't this cute?
Sweet step dancing!

So this is a girl who step dances. I actually asked her her name& now, of course, I forget it. Two-faced Tuesday may have to start including some kind of note taking for situations like this. She is in grade 11 and goes to the local high school. She danced to Avril Lavigne and everybody loved her! Seriously, she was completely fabulous. She has been dancing since she was 6 and it showed. Everyone was talking about her around the exhibition and the crowd watching them was crazy! Along with her, there were also some cute little kiddie highland dancers who were adorable. Something about little kids& plaid is just hard to beat. The little kids danced to the Highland Fling ..so cute!

So, now that Two-faced Tuesday is out of the way? Up next is Friday Snaps[3]! I'm only 2 days late on this one so that's sort of a perk .. here is my shot& it sums up my weekend fabulously! It's seriously what I spent ALL week doing. Can you guess?

..it's a photo of the exhibition! Well, more specifically, it's a photo of the Zipper. 'Why the Zipper?' is a question you're probably not asking yourself but I'm going to answer it anyway. When I was a young little sweet girl at the tender age of 3, my mother somehow convinced the carnies to let me on the ride. I'm not sure how, seeing as I am sure I didn't meet the height requirements ..my mom is a very persuasive and I was very cute with my blonde curls. So off we went to ride the Zipper. Mom had to keep her hand on the top of my head so I wouldn't bounce completely off the seat! Then ..one of my shoes fell off and she couldn't catch it so it was flying around inside the little compartment we were in until she got it. Thank goodness Mom is good at multitasking! We survived and, surprise surprise, I wanted to go right back on it. I couldn't though, because at this point the person who let me on the ride was gone& there was a meaner guy who wouldn't fall for my sweet curls. Sad day.

So now that you know that sweet little memory from my much younger days, here is the photo:

I was a tough 3yr old.
Would YOU ride this ride?!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to ride it this year. Not because I'm a pansy but because all of my friends who went to the exhibition with me refused to get on any rides! They claimed motion sickness comes with age. I was going to go on a few rides with my cousin, but I couldn't find him so instead I spent my entire ex week without riding any rides! Oh well, ate enough cotton candy to make up for lack of rides! So there. I'm officially caught up. Congratulations if you're still with me& read all this!

Insanity!

So today was my last day of classes before I get a glorious week off!
They were nothing worth noting, other than 2 hilarious old school movies in Occ. Hygiene. We watched them on VHS. So 1980. Then Marg, Karli and I hit up the mall. I bought a sweet dress from Le Chateau for 50$, god love sales. After that, I came home and enjoyed a thoroughly exhilarating workout of Insanity Plyometrics.

Insanity's version of plyo is SICK. I will say, it does seem to fly by much faster than P90X plyo. I think that had something to do with the crazy fast pace and I don't know the moves yet for this one. I had P90X plyo memorized so it was really easy to just follow along. I am hoping I will improve, it was a good workout. At one point, you spend the whole time doing stupid push ups and being in plank for 3 minutes, moving your legs in and out and left / out / right / out. KILL ME. So so hard. I sweat a solid amount of toxins from my body ahaha and am now enjoying writing a blog, that sadly for you folks, won't be including a photo because I didn't take it yet! I am going to take it after I shower, while waiting for my hair to dry. I will either post it before shipping off to enjoy dancing with the girls or I may just update with both tomorrow. Really, depends on my time management skills. Mostly, I'm just glad to be sitting down instead of standing on my legs. They are WASTED.

I got a sick new playlist for the gym and when I went to use it yesterday, I forgot my changer for my shuffle. Ugh. So I am listening to it now and getting re-energized again! I feel like I could totally redo plyometrics. Instead, I have to shower / get ready / throw on a dress / go out with the girls. I suppose that it's not really such a bad alternative ahaha I hope my legs allow me to dance!
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday evening :)
