Today is a good day.

Why is today a good day, you ask? Well, allow me to show you in a list.

1. Colin Mochrie retweeted my Give to Live post. That's right. Some of you may not know this but this man and Ryan Stiles were my idols when I was young. I would watch countless episodes of Whose Line is it Anyway. Two of the funniest men ever in my opinion. So, look at the screen shot that made my day:

Yes. This happened.
JACKPOT.

So, now I'm practically famous. Did it get me any donations? Nope. Does it mean I can die happy knowing Colin Mochrie read one of my tweets? Yup.

So far I have e-mailed Ellen a hilarious e-mail .. tweeted her twice .. and what have I received? No love from her. Ellen, if Colin Mochrie was a TV show host, you'd quickly be becoming 2nd place. Since he doesn't and since I'll give you the benefit of a doubt and say you're probs busy or something, I'll leave you in the top spot. You better get your act together soon though and acknowledge my existence!

2. Also, as of today I have officially raised more for one cause than I ever have before in my life. I'd say go me but really .. GO MY SPONSORS! Thank you folks so much for taking some time out of your day and some money out of your wallets to help me reach my goal. A giant shout out to Jess for donating! Thanks girly. We've brought my total money raised to $185 or 18.5% of my goal :D Fundraising is actually sort of exciting. Especially when you do it my way -just telekenetically trying to convince others to donate. Also using facebook, twitter, celebrities& blogger.

Thanks, folks!
PS they should round up, not down.

Okay, so that is my quick update for today. Also, in case you were curious about the weather on this island? It sucks. So on that note I'm off to bike 20k in the shitty, cold rain. GO JUNE.

Training.

Tonight I did what I had been putting off.
I made my training schedule for both the Fiddler's Run& the Tour for Kids. It's PSYCHO. It also started on Monday ..but that's because I had awesome intentions of being a super star and starting my training Monday. Obviously, that only sort of happened.

The official training sheet has been printed off and will be posted on the fridge. I may end up printing off a lot of them and scattering them around my house to encourage me to stop doing what I am doing (wasting time most likely) and go do some work. Now, this schedule is PSYCHO. I am already in pretty decent shape though ..can run a 10k and cycle 50k. So it builds slow enough that I SHOULD be able to complete my kilometres a day. If not, it's not the end of the world. Who even trains for a half marathon (possible 10k) and 3-day cycle tour?!

..okay, so probably lots of people but whatever. I'm trying to console myself here. Now, the long awaited (for me, at least. You folks didn't even know this was ever going to exist) schedule has been made and every attempt in the world will be made to keep this as close as possible. All changes will be tracked and kilometres at the end of the week counted.

Yes. I know. It's Tour for Kids, not Ride for the Cure.
Whatever. I'm tired.

So, there's my summer. What do you have planned for the upcoming beautiful months?! Perhaps helping out my cause?!

I also have to give a big shout out& thank you going out to Meaghan Beaton who donated to my cause! She was my first official not-in-Canada donation :D Thanks, girly! Can't wait for you to come back to the island :D

Quick Update!

I have reached 15% of my goal for Tour for Kids thanks to donations from Momma, Donna& Annette :) You ladies rock my socks ..only $850 more to go. Hey, at least I'm out of the 4 digits worth of fundraising needed. Woooohooo!

So today was GORGEOUS out so Meg& I ran a 5k. It was fun ..I'm going to do running as a cross training for my Cabot Trail ride and Meg is training for the half marathon here in September so I'll decide later to enter either that or the 10k. Depending on how my legs feel after August 7th!

Hope you folks enjoyed your weekend (or, if you're in America .. that you enjoy your tomorrow as well) and that everyone had fabulous weather! I promise a much better entry tomorrow.

Give to Live!

So today is a sad day. People are coming to look at Dewey.
I have to go ride him and make him look pretty. Ugh.

So, on that note ..instead I'm going to ask my lovelyyy blog readers to do me a huge favor and help me :D You know how this blog is slowly becoming a fitness blog? Wellll .. it's because in 73 days I will be biking the Cabot Trail.

Here is a sampling of the kinds of 'hills' I'll be climbing.

So, yes ..this is something I've been saying I wanted to do now for a few years. In a moment of insanity, I decided this was the year. Meg posted me the link via twitter and 2 days later I was registered and training for the craziest 3 days of my life.

I'm doing the ride with Tour for Kids. It is honestly awesome but I am SUCH an awful fundraiser that I'm hoping someone will come across my blog& decide to help me out.

If I end up dead along the Cabot Trail, I guess it won't matter I've raised $0 of the $1,000 I was supposed to. There is an upside to everything, right?! Let's make it so I'm not preferring death while on my cycling adventure, okay? I know you guys can do it :D

I already asked Ellen via Twitter to donate... wouldn't that be amazing? I would kill two birds with one stone. Just imagine me now. Take a moment and enjoy the photo below .. I'm hoping within the next 73 days that this moment will happen to me.

Imagine how amazing it will be when you see me.
Rocking that sweater / scarf look.

Helping me out also helps all kinds of kids and every dollar counts! I promise on August 8th to have a massive recap with lots of photos (here's hoping I can convince people to take photos ..boyfriend?!), stories and laughs. This is all assuming I survive.

So, now that I've convinced you to donate a dollar, you need my personal page to donate to. Here's where things start to get sad. My personal page still has $0 raised. I've met 0% of my goal. Sorry, Tour for Kids :(

Thank you so very much people. Even if you can't donate, thank you for reading :)

Long break!

Sorry folks, I got mad at Blogger for first deleting my post then my comments.

Post has been returned .. comments have not. Still slightly upset about that. Oh well.. moving on to bigger& better.

So, I officially signed up for Tour for Kids Atlantic 3-day Cabot Trail bike event :D It's super exciting. It is August 5th, 6th& 7th. I will not know a soul but am hoping that either the boyfriend or a parent will take some photos of my adventure for me :) I'm going to have to fund raise $1,000 by September 31st. I'm nervous ..especially since I can't figure the stupid thing out. My fingers are crossed .. as soon as I figure it out, I will post the link here.

Tonight I fell off a horse. Her name is Lexie and I hit the gravel hard. Even after 14 years of riding, a fall is still humbling! Oh well .. I got back on her and she was fine. She got spooked by a horse out in the field. No big deal, aside from the fact that I think my hip is going to be mighty sore tomorrow. And I caught myself with my already destroyed right arm. Oh, the joys.

So, now I'm over being angry at Blogger and will be back to posting daily! Hope your weather is turning into the summer kind ..it certainly isn't on the island :(

Edit- You have NO idea how much it would be appreciated if someone random& who I didn't have to totally beg in real life to support me ..did this! I figured out the link to my page for TourforKids .. all you have to do is click the button 'Make A Pledge' and go ahead! You can donate however much or little you want! Any amount helps ..I have to get to $1,000. And I suck at this stuff! Who wants to be my first donation?!

So, without further ado -here is my fundraising page :) Simply click here!

PS you guys rock <3
